Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday announced that June 25, the day the Emergency was imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975, would henceforth be observed as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas' (Constitution murder day).
In a post on X, Amit Shah said the day would commemorate the massive contributions of all those who endured the "inhuman pains of the 1975 Emergency".
"On June 25, 1975, the then PM Indira Gandhi, in a brazen display of a dictatorial mindset, strangled the soul of our democracy by imposing the Emergency on the nation. Lakhs of people were thrown behind bars for no fault of their own, and the voice of the media was silenced. The Government of India has decided to observe the 25th of June every year as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas'," Shah tweeted.

in a recent television interview Mr Rajnath Singh our current defense minister shared the news that he was imprisoned during emergency as he took path in the JP movement. He said that he was not given parole to attend his mother's funeral. This is just inhuman as he was not a criminal and just taken part in the student movement.

What are the signs? Why Rahul Gandhi is not in Jail or Sonia Gandhi? All the top politicians are not in Jail. YOu could call PM chor(chowkidar chor hai), Saare mod neech hote hain and other jibes. In emergency you would have seen all the top opposition in jail, ban on Congress party(the way they banned RSS) among many other things. It took more than eight summons and nearly six months for ED to arrest Kejriwal. And too at a risky time for BJP as elections were near.

Modi Ji, having 'christened' Nov 26 as ' CONSTITUTION DAY' while addressing the Nation from Central Hall of Parliament on Nov 26,2014, seemingly not aware that he became CM of Gujarat in 2001 and PM of India in 2014 under the provisions of Sovereign,Socialist,Secular Democratic Reoublic of India in force from 3.1.1977 onwards , with Emergency imposed under Art 352 of the Constitution for Sovereign Democratic Republic Of India by then President on June 25,1975 had been Withdrawn by the same President exercising Constitutional Powers vested under Art 53.

Dear rajdeep ji, you see we have been observing undeclared emergency now since last 14 years as all investigating agencies if central govt are targetting only opposite politicians treating politicians of ruling part as totally polished in vim powder. If you are able to say this openly without getting persecuted. Then you are living a fools paradise that democracy is in danger. Democracy is not in danger, opposition is in danger, though they could get some breather in this election due to false Narrative that Consitution will be changed. In fact consitution has been changed more than 100 times and 80 or so by Congress itself. In fact youtube itself would have been banned and replaced with an Indian version of it and people forced to upload there videos there as is being done in china, had democracy being in danger. But people need to realise what can happen when Congress has absolute majority. Congress can go as far as removing fundamental rights too. The first change was done by Nehru himself to curtail freedom of speech as early as 1951 or 1952, because he didn't like certain publications which were deeply critical of him.

It is very appropriate to celebrate 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas' on 25th June next year because next year this black day will complete 50 years. Most of the citizens of India are below 50 years of age. It is therefore very important for all of them to know about this dark period so that they can understand what kind of tortures people had to face during that black period. 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas' will remind people about the sacrifices & struggle of the people of India to secure 2nd freedom for their country. It will instill respect & value of Indian Constitution in their lives. Seeing Rahul Gandhi's indecent & abusive behavior full of lies in the Parliament it seems he has lost his mental balance as he became leader of the opposition with just 99 seats after 10 years in his third attempt. There is famous Indian saying 'razor in the hands of a monkey (Bandar ke haath mein Ustra' which means that no power or authority should come in the hands of a fool or an inept person. If this happens, he will harm others. During Emergency "Bandar" got sword in his hands.
