A country has technology to reach moon and mars, claims to have best Public Digital Infrastructure, can you not trace the call in minutes and pick up the criminals? the other day, the caller abused me when I said I'm coming for him. He was nonchalant because he knows that local politicians will protect him. Jamtara, Nuh, etc all places are well-known. But we have such a corroded and corrupt system that makes ordinary citizens vulnerable

I received a similar call I realised that it was a scam call, I just blocked the number. They tried with different numbers and I blocked all the numbers. End of the story. The Cyber crime department needs to enhance their approach towards cyber security systems and take stringent action against scammers and punish those who are involved in the cyber scam.

The only way we can fight this is put a poster everywhere and educate people. Not enough done by news media. Why not put ads educating people. Put ads everwhere so everybody knows about the issue. This should be done throught our Country. During covid times there was a recorded caution message every time we made a call. For a few months why cant we use the same idea to caution regarding this issue.

Here in the UK banks will put transaction onhold and they will ask customers to call their fraud department and verify the payment is going to genuine person by asking N number of questions and then they will release the payment

PM just giving 1930 helpline is not at all helpful. Who is responsible for digital India should do more to stop this cyber crime. Just giving a helpline number where they do not respond is not enough

Banks also need a customer support team to respond immediately to customers on their suspicions. When SMSs are generated informing customers their phone number against the account has been changed it os an indication of hackers tampering with cuatomer accounts amd these need to be reported to crime investigative agencies and auditors of the banks

I have received many such messages and calls inspite of being on Airtel DND. Complaint s to Airtel do not elicit any action against these numbers. Now Airtel has stopped even registering the complaints

OnceI list my mobile, immediately did online fir.. one police officer called me. I went to his office, he suggested me, please close your complaint. Buy a new phone, court case will take time, money and you will find no solution.

Even though news papers have specifically asked public to submit/share masked aadhar only ,there is no government agency that I have interacted with that does not ask for an unmasked aadhar ...so the government agencies themselves have played a major role in facilitating these scamsters

I sympathise with her. But being si educated and a professional, especially wirking in media, she should have simply used commin sense. Since when did Indian police system become so competent and technologically advanced to arrest through video call. And why will they use Skype like apps. They will have their official mobile numbers or land phone. If they are giving the option to come to a police station 500km away, accept it. It will give the opportunity to hang the phone and talk to others. I agree in such situation we get panicked an forget to act smartly. But come on.. she is not some villager. And those peoples or only in the video..not physically present so there was no immediate threat. Video me se kya buagd lenge. And if a police officer is abusing her, being an educated women she could have told him HE HAS BO RIGHT TO USE SUCH LANGUAGE.

Actually I'm in Chennai, I also have got calls, it's a recorded message from TRAI, stating that my number is going to be disconnected and asking me to press a number. I cut the call immediately. This has happened several times.
