The no tax is discerning ,still waters run deep there are wheels within wheels ,from what I understood basic amount on which tax liability is nil is Rs.6.00 lacs ,up to 12 lacs you can avoid tax provided you claim some relief ,.. Now for the Central Government employees get a salary hike as per the 8th Pay Commission which has been accepted by the government and will be implemented and the salary across the board will increase substantially and pensioners also benefit .My mother is drawing a family pension of Rs.1.25 lacs and she will also benefit .My father died while in service as Secy of the Dept of Revenue .
