Old Monk RUM जो कीं पुरी तरह Indian ब्रँड हैं, आज आप सब जानीए कपिल मोहन मीकिन' की कहानी 150 साल से ज्यादा पुरानी है. ये कंपनी अमृतसर पंजाब में हुए जालियनवाला बाग हत्याकांड कें आरोपी जनरल डायर कें पिता, एडवर्ड डायर ने 1855 में बनाई थी. ये एशिया की पहली ब्रिवरी कंपनी थी. इसकी शुरुआत हिमाचल प्रदेश की वादियों में हुई. कसौली जो कि आजकल हिमाचल का बड़ा टूरिस्ट प्वाइंट है, वहीं की पहाड़ियों में इसकी शुरुआत हुई. वहां का पानी ड्रिंक्स बनाने के लिए बिलकुल माकूल था. इसकी पहली ड्रिंक 'लायन बियर' थी. साल 1949 में कपिल के पिता एनएन. मोहन ने डायर की इस कंपनी को खरीद लिया. एन. एन. मोहन भारत के एक बड़े बिजनेसमैन थे. 1966 में इस कंपनी का नाम बदलकर 'मोहन मीकिन ब्रिवरीज' रखा गया.
