Police and the Owasso, Oklahoma school district are investigating the death of Nex Benedict, a 16-year-old LGBTQ+ teen. Benedict died on Feb. 8, one day after being involved in a fight at their local high school. Benedict's cause of death is still unclear, but LGBTQ+ rights advocates are pointing to Oklahoma's strict policies and inflammatory rhetoric targeting the state's LGBTQ+ residents.

Oklahoma superintendent Ryan Walters is a known associate with the terrorist organization LibOfTikTok (an FBI-confirmed hate organization). Its founder, Chaya Raichik, sent over 26 bomb threats to children's hospitals and schools, and yet she was given a position of educational power in the state despite not being from Oklahoma or having any education training or credentials whatsoever. She lives in California and has no children, yet a confirmed terrorist has political power in Oklahoma. The day after Walters took a public photo with Raichik on Twitter, Nex was fatally attacked on school grounds by three girls. Nex's grandparents- who were their legal guardians because of the anti-LGBTQ abuse they faced at the hands of their parents- were not notified about their child's attack or injuries, due to the teachers being afraid of getting fired by Walters and Raichik for reporting a transphobic hate crime. Nex was sent home with no treatments to their injuries and their parents took them to the hospital right away. The next morning, they had to be returned to the hospital, where Nex died from their injuries. Raichik claimed the child died of "natural causes" and her followers have begun to spread this conspiracy. She is threatening to sue those who point out that a 16-year-old dying "naturally" just two days after a severe attack that did not receive immediate medical attention because of bigoted, pro-violence policies that Raichik implemented herself is a load of bull. If you are a transphobe/identity as anti-transgender, let this be known: this is the world you are fighting for. These are the "evil transgenders" you wanted dead: literal children trying to go to the washroom. The same people screaming “protect our kids” are the very reason children are not safe. You want children dead. Transphobic people promote a fascist ideology that would dictate who can marry and reproduce. What people can act like, look like, speak like, and what they can do. @@jackalope5589If you watch the full twenty-minute bodycam video, Nex herself clearly states that she did not know these girls, she had never met them. This leads me to believe there was no ongoing problem between them. They were in suspension together, and the other girls were freshman while Nex was a sophomore. Nex herself says she threw water on them because they made fun of the way she laughs. Her mother seems to believe this is acceptable, and needs to have law enforcement explain to her that throwing liquid on someone is assault. It's really lovely.

A read a comment on another thread from a previous student from this same school and graduated back in 1997 .. they said they were thrown down steps and into lockers because they were different and listened to different music and rode skateboards and weren’t as wealthy as the other students and those same bullies would be in church every Sunday which completely lines up with the type of people that are judgmental of others
