1st Job MD'ers...like the video for me. It helps more than you know! Can we hit 2000 likes??? The tank is finished. I was really hoping to get the newts for the final video but might have to wait a bit for that because of the current.....issues. All ok. The tank should be looking amazing by the time they are available and gives us time to make everything even better. But this is what the end result is. I think it looks almost jurassic!!! I did like the look of the moss only minimalist style but I think this way is much better as an environment with cover for the newts. @the1killjoy6574 жыл бұрын
I really liked what you said about setting up all the enclosures and then waiting until they settle for stocking I think that's important to note because often on YT you see animal keepers setting up lots of animals in what seems like a really short space of time (even if that's not the case) and then ppl think they can just set up a fish tank or something in like a day and it be ready for fish without cycling properly, I really like that you encourage responsible pet keeping 👍

I think a taped line of silicon on the inner underside edge of the lid...so that it is held in place and won't fall in and break? The newt might have really appreciated a nice moist humid environment. Good work as always.

i like the plants. i would suggest installing a small fogger on a timer, for both the newt and the moss. that way you don't have to keep spraying it daily to maintain hi humidity since you've opened the top of the tank.

no need to spray it my friend. The moss and the ferns constantly receive water from the water fall.

i love how the newt tank turned out! only thing i would like to see is a red or green tiger lotus in the water (Nypmhaea Zenkeri) i think that will add just the right amount of plants and prevent algae on the rocks. and a newt of course!
@ryanlange73274 жыл бұрын
You did say that you're planning on putting some mesh over the center of the lid, correct? Not worried about newts traversing the glass upside-down to get out, but you'd be surprised at how good they can be at climbing ferns, and it looks like those are already just about tall enough for the newts to use them as a means of escape. (also, they're *very* good at slipping through cracks--if the crack between the top of the aquarium glass and the bottom of the lid side panels is more than about 1/3 a newt's "height" from bottom of belly to top of back, it'll probably be able to slip through).

Cut some screen material and use the glass to frame the screen in. Screen in the middle and glue the glass to hold the screen in place like a frame.. Then get the black foam stuff you use for doors . To fill the gaps. This can go around the edges to boost and protect the glass . So hard to explain in writing. 😆
