Newt...a friend we all wish we could have in this crazy world. He's kind, he's loyal, he's present, he's the glue.. The fact that he died- just kills me inside. The fact that he was in so much emotional pain that he jumped off that wall in the maze, The fact that in the end.. he didn't die from the flare. He died because he killed himself with that knife. When he whispered "Please Tommy..please." I about lost it. He didn't deserve to die.

Yeah, but I adore him for refusing to become a monster. He exited on his own terms. Newt was always an outlier -- his depression, his lack of immunity, his unwavering loyalty, and his courage to do what needed to be done even if it meant he wouldn't be there to protect them any longer. He's an amazing hero and his character was portrayed perfectly.

This song fucking breaks my heart in million pieces every time I hear it bc I'm thinking of Newt's death, and that all he really wanted was to die, because all he could remember was the Glade and never feeling happy. He tried to killed himself and failed, but now he's really gone. I try to convince myself that he's fine now, from where he is, he finally has what he truly wanted since the beginning. I imagine him in heaven, talking with Alby. They're probably spending their time to remember all of the little great things of the Glade, and telling him, Winston, Ben and Chuck all of what they did after their deaths (escaping the maze or surviving the scorch trials for example,) and the truth about WICKED and why/how they got trapped in that bloody glade. I also imagine him telling to Chuck that he's still bloody annoying, even dead. (i cried while writing this)

I used to walk around, like a normal human being. I saw people, places. I traveled sometimes. Its been a few weeks after I saw The Death Cure(yea I'm late I know) for the first time, and I can't go to many public places anymore. That movie tore me apart. I see his face in people I've never seen before, making me look twice. I see his name places, like for example I mistake "new" or "next" for his name. It hurts. It feels like someone is reaching into my chest and squeezing my heart, just enough so that I don't die, but I'm in excruciating pain. I wish I could just go back in time so that I could forget what happened. I wish I could get thrown into a box and put into a maze, not remembering anything. But I do remember. We all remember. We remember what happened to him. And we have no choice but to remember. You can try to forget, but one tiny thing can send all the memories flooding back in. Don't try to forget him. Own it. Yes, he died. Yes, we cried about it (possibly for days). Don't shut out the memories, because when you do remember, it will just hurt worse. We love you Newt. We will never forget you. 🌹❤

Which meant he was going to die because that’s just life works. I had the biggest movie breakdown of my life watching TDC. Newt’s death is the hardest I’ve ever cried in a movie. He was my favorite character. He deserved so much and got nothing. He was so sweet and kind. All he wanted was to help.
