In our Indian classical music, we call it Pranayama Managing the dimensions of breathe viz. Life When we practice Indian classical we're supposed to apply pressure on the navel area to get what is our natural voice the voice in which we talk) & there is absolutely no pressure on vocal chords. We need to hold our breathe till the singing (a particular line) is over. This does two things. One is off course getting the song in most effective controlled voice, the other is Pranayaama (breathing excercise) {You can serach about Pranayam India on google} This can help heal various types of diseases.

id say it should be the opposite u want chin to be slightly down when you sing in mix, but what matters is feeling probably. Do you feel any sort of pain or strain

Hey, Justin thanks for this thorough explanation. So this lead me to ask, have you noticed when Loren Allred sang her famous song Never Enough with. David Foster, live, she had veins popping up? What do you think of that?
@Miatpi5 жыл бұрын
I think I on the contrary have too little subglottic pressure: I tend to speak/sing slightly breathy and raspy, with a lack of power in my voice. Any tips to fix it? :)

Dear Justin, I'm a skinny guy, and supporting my singing with just the right amount of air needed BUT my veins aren't really visible. Almost like nothing, does this mean than it's not enough or I'm doing something wrong without realizing it? Hope u get my point. LOL I'd be very grateful my entire life if u reply.

I have a question if my lowest note it´s a D2 and my highest it´s E5 im a bass or baritone or tenor i don´t know and i have 3 months of making singing exercise at home watching your videos. A lot of people say that bass singers don´t sound good in pop music and that´s what i want to know.

I have a doubt about my singing and I would appreciate it so much if you would help me. I have been singing for years but I never had to force to achieve any note in my vocal range even if it is really high or low. I only use my stuff in my neck and nothing comes from my abdomens and chest naturally. I have learned that the chest and abdomens are important to sing good but when I tried doing so then all I found that I had to put so much force onto my throat which was easily able to do the same things before. It is almost like I was forcing my vocal chords for no reason at all. Now my question is that is it really a bad thing in singing to use your throat for everything and if yes then is there something I am doing wrong while trying to put my whole body into the singing because I tire out my chords so much more when I do so then when I don't.
