There are calls for government to intervene on the action taken by a group called Operation Dudula. The group which has conducted what they call "clean-up" operations targeting illegal foreign nationals operating business stalls in Soweto and other parts of Johannesburg. There are concerns that could lead to xenophobic attacks. Operation Dudula's Nhlanhla Lux and programme manager for vulnerable groups at the Foundation For Human Rights Sarah Motha weigh in.

My daughter went to school with a girl originally from the DRC. Her mother was a nurse and her father an accountant. They came to South Africa as refugees, were here legally and were documented. But, as refugees , they didn't have to pay school fees for their daughter, but I, as a single parent, had to pay over R3000 pm. They were both professional, working people, yet they did not have to pay anything for the education of their children, 7 in total. Where is the justice in that? My taxes were paying for their children's education, yet I was struggling to pay for my own child's education! And they dropped their child off at school in a 4x4, and my child took a bus to school. I agree with you foreign migration is not bad, but should be controlled and not in large numbers. Illegal immigrants have caused problems everywhere even in Eswatini, Congo, Botswana.
