I do love a good balsa plane. I haven't heard many good things about Nexa from anyone who has bought them, though. Some of it is just error during setup, but I have heard build quality isn't up to snuff. Things like internal glue joints not having consistent quality control and missing glue in a lot of places, wood warp quality control, and overall build strength not overbuilt at all (meaning things like axles being too small), and not even having basic ball links with metal screws, and not carbon fiber control horns (which should be standard these days). I'm curious as to how I could spend premium ARF money on an ARF that is built at a price-point that is disproportionate to the quality of the build? I am actually afraid to buy one because I haven't seen ANY positive content on Nexa outside of content affiliated with a dealer in some way.

I built one of these and it was really nice looking. There are a few of construction tweaks required for the build process. I went with the recommended hardware for electric as listed by motionrc. It flew well and the flaps were great. Unfortunately, I killed it on the maiden as I lost orientation, and it went into a stalled dive. I posted my build in rcgroups.

Good looking plane. And would love to add a tripacer to the hangar especially this one as its identical to the full scale one my dad had when I was a kid. Can't wait to see your maiden flights and make my call when I see it fly. But she's a beauty 😊

Does it still have the absolutely terrible self-stick PVC covering? I have the original VQ that came with a hole in the wing (Yes, the left one...) and the covering is almost impossible to repair. Otherwise it's a gorgeous ARF..

I had the original VQ version of this plane. One of the issues was the stick on covering. Do the NEXA models use real iron on covering now? This one looks completely different then the VQ.

It's a thin sticky backed covering. It does not like the heat. Do not touch it with acetone, it will melt.

Stand off scale, Like 100 feet. I've never had a VQ arf that didn't fly well!!
