So I wanted to make a quick correction. "Happy Valley" is NOT the salt lake area, it's actually more like Provo, which is about an hour south of salt lake. That area is known to have a high concentration of Mormons, and as an ex Mormon, there is a lot of pressure to be happy and spiritual all the time. I've lived in Utah County (aka Happy Valley), before. It was a bit like living in the uncanny valley as an outsider. The vibe was definitely off. It felt like the city itself was suppressing a secret. Happy Valley got it's name partly because lots of people in the area are on antidepressants. No judgement, me too, but it's worth pointing out. I also know that one side effect of my antidepressant is strange dreams. Additionally, there's an argument to be made that Mormonism is a cult (some factions of it are unarguably cults, the mainstream one is still up for debate). If you add all these things together, it paints a picture of a potential cult targeting people who are likely to be having strange dreams because of medications and who could potentially be more susceptible to indoctrination. Food for thought.

Assuming schools in the US don't really dive into that topic too much, here's an interesting fact about Sophie Scholl (after whom the german summer camp was apparently namend): Sophie Scholl and her brother Hans were university students in Munich during the third reich. They gathered other students to form a small resistance group called _Weiße Rose_ ("white rose" in english) and started spreading fliers with messages against and information about the regime and the atrocities it was commiting. Sadly, they were found, trialed and executed by the nazis in 1943. I'm just writing this say that those two, as well as their friends, were genuine heroes for risking (and eventually giving) their lifes to try and sabotage an overwhelmingly strong evil, and deserve to be remembered for their bravery.
