I understand better that he wasn't really related to the coworker so can't actually do much. I still find strange how little information we have and how it seems everybody in his entourage don't give a flying f...about him. I lived a similar case once, but it was a close friend and in the same day we started investigating and in the middle night we got a police call they found him. It's a good ending but it could of turned to the worst. If you have any suspicion about someone missing, please make followed up closely.

The one about the stalker husband: a possible indicator of lying is non-specific things. Such as saying he saw the dog died on “social media.” Most people would give the specific site that they saw it on: “I saw it on Instagram/Twitter/Facebook” The term “social media” would be used to refer to social networking in general, but when describing something specific you saw, you’d say the specific site. But when needing to come up with a lie on the spot, you’re more likely to not think of something specific quickly but instead something more general.

We recently had our first child, a baby girl. Almost immediately after birth, doctors put a tracking ankle bracelet on her. It would raise an alarm if it was removed, or got too close to an exit. When we were discharged and they finally removed it about 30 minutes before we left they told us "Nobody will come and need to take her for any reason." The pregnancy story made it hit home just how real that possibility is.

My kid is 3, and when we were still in the hospital, the ankle bracelet they attached made the doors lock if he came too close. I also heard a story that my mother almost got snatched at a grocery store when she was young. It's been happening for a long, long time and is definitely a scary reality.

@@vinceiopez3657 The main problem is twofold. First the nurse supervising the newborn nursery and transport of infants tends to be young, naïve and overworked. So she is very likely to just let anyone who had prepared a long well researched story in to seeing the baby and take it away. Secondly as pointed out, the majority of baby kidnappings are women, these are not violent thefts, this is social engineering and pathological lying so she walks out with everyone believing the baby is hers, everyone needs to be much more sceptical of women telling tall tales to commit crimes because it is really, really common. These babies who get kidnapped at hospitals have always had staff that just let it happen, lack of training, lack of protocol, even societal belief that women don't commit crimes, all of this feeds into the criminal's opportunity to strike.

Many recovered addicts, myself included, are estranged from our families and especially our parents. Usually because we had highly abusive childhoods that contributed to our need to self medicate. I am not at all surprised that his mother didn't care. I come from an extremely dysfunctional family that I had to cut ties with in order for my survival. If I disappeared and somebody called one of them they wouldn't give a damn either! More should have been done for this man. The DCS story really hits home for me, as I was involved in a similar (though far less elaborate) event as a very young baby. My parents were in a Miami airport terminal with me, waiting for their flight, when all of a sudden this random lady started fighting with them. She eventually called some of the airport security over, claiming that I was her child and that my parents were attempting to steal me from her. Luckily, nothing came of it, and I managed to live a happy life with my real parents, but it’s still crazy to think about the fact that it even happened in the first place.

The DCS story reminded me of my area 10 or 15 years ago. There were people going door to door selling home security systems. However, they had no connection to any company. They were just trying to see which houses didn't have alarms so they could break in. They came to my house before I knew. I thought it was legit so I told them I already had an alarm so I didn't have to go through some sales pitch. A little while later it was in the news.

revisiting this video, the last story reminds me of a story from a webinar i watched about supporting survivors of dv that also have mental illness. they told of one lady who had been a survivor who kept hearing voices. she ended up checking herself into the hospital, believing she was as crazy as her harm-doer had said. she asked a friend whole in the hospital to check something at the house, so the friend swung by. It was winter, and the house was chilly, so the friend went to turn up the thermostat. As she did, she heard voices, soft and barely understandable, the kind that makes you lean in to try to understand. It turns out that the harm-doer had managed to rig a speaker into the thermostat that when touched (and i think at random intervals) played those sounds just to continue to cause harm to the survivor. it is certainly frightening the lengths with which harm-doers will go to continue to inflict harm.

Dude it’s probably not that deep at all. Chances are the girl was really just looking for tips on how to avoid detection. Y’all remember that one little “husband is probably projecting his own cheating” bit, well a few things stand out about her. Why did she have to make a point of saying she confirmed her husbands business trips were real? Who confirms that shit, also her husband’s possible spying began around February but one can also say her paranoia also began at the time, she also began to have a lot more alone time. I mean who could blame her if she did decide to have an affair and this was actually her guilt getting to her? Why did she want the post deleted? The fact that the last woman never followed up might mean her husband found out about the reddit posts and was angry. Its obvious that he was watching her and its not too out of the realm of possibility to think that he has some kind of surveillance on her phone, or even suspected she might be suspicious and end up on online forums looking for advice. I usually choose to be optimistic and believe that the best possible outcome came out of this, or there was just a huge misunderstanding or her husband was spying on her to find a way to surprise her with something or anything like that but to be honest i dont think her story necessarily has a happy ending. oh god, i remember reading that post when it was pretty recent. the story, from what i remember, was that the husbands mother died during childbirth and left the father to raise him, and so they stayed very close when the husband was an adult-dinners at his house every couple of days kind of close. which, sure, every family is different. then, op gets pregnant, and both of the men start getting more and more freaked out. op is perfectly healthy in every way, but the guys are insisting she’s gonna die, to the point they start nagging her to pack up all of her clothes to make it easier for the husband to move when she’s gone and to record videos for the kid to watch so they’ll know her even when she’s dead. no arguments. she has to do these things because her death is a forgone conclusion to these two. then came the fact that both the men were refusing the idea that op could have her mother or another family member with her, because the husband needed to be there and obviously needed his father for emotional support (while op would get none). a set up that many responses noted would leave her alone with two men who were completely convinced she would die, and who might resort to making sure it happened themselves if she didn’t die when she was supposed to, just to make sure that the husbands son has the same start in life. and after that post, she was never active again.

The last case, Losingmymind5, Her husband had to be spying on her, that was in no way, a ‘his guilty conscience’ reaction type scenario. True he may have been a cheater, and felt guilty about it, But he knew Way To Much! Basically her every damn move. Definitely hope, that she got some answers and is safe and sound. No doubt, like Newport said, that’s such an invasion of a persons privacy in the worst way, and so very controlling. To say the least.

The pregnant lady story terrified me and made me think of another story that terrified and enraged me. let me know if you know what i’m talking about because I’d love to check for updates. basically this guy was sitting outside a grocery store waiting for his wife with his baby when a woman just walked up, picked up the baby, and walked away with it. He chased after her to try and get his baby back but she quickly accused him of being the thief, so the people in the nearby area began beating him up while he could only look on in horror as she walked away with his kid. Luckily, his wife came outside and saw what was happening and cleared things up, but no one ever apologized for the misconception, the woman was never really punished, and the whole thing was just kind of dismissed. Super sketchy legal stuff combined with attempted child abduction combined with and the idea of being completely helpless with no one believing you because you’re a man and she’s a woman has made that entire story stick with me for a long time. if anyone knows what i’m talking about, please let me know :)

The last story scares me so much. I have serious anxiety that has started to develop into paranoia due to major stress that I've experienced in the past couple years. One of the biggest paranoia related fears I have is that I'm being watched or someone who is not supposed to be there is in my house. It has gotten to the point where if I am particularly anxious, I will have auditory hallucinations of footsteps close by. To think that my fears could possibly come true just sends chills down my spine.

My theory on the DCS story: So most of have come to the conclusion that the child was going to be abducted by the woman coming to her house. But I feel as though there’s a whole nother layer to this story. A while back I watched video about fetus snatching. Basically what usually happens is one woman will befriend another woman who is pregnant. The woman will pretend she’s pregnant and then when the other woman is almost ready to give birth they kill the other woman and perform a c-section on them. They usually keep the baby for themselves. There are times where they kill the whole family just to keep the baby. I’d definitely need to have some other information to be sure, like both their races, when she got pregnant, etc.
