What’s the benefit of upgrading from n55 coil packs and going to the b58 coil packs? Did you change spark plugs or can you use the n55 plugs?

You can maintain a faster and higher-powered spark with the B58 coils. Here's a link to a forum post where someone did all the research to compare the combustion rates of many coil packs. www.spoolstreet.com/threads/ignition-coil-secondary-spark-energy-comparison-n54-n55-b58-and-pr.7169/ We were experiencing timing corrections at higher rpms and with the swap we were able to fix that. We have not looked back since.

Nice video.. I am considering upgrading… wondering if anyone is planning to do a dyno or at least a before and after logging with bm3 and checking real benefits of this upgrade… vs PR coils still looks more plug and play but the benefit is that after this kit is installed… replacing parts looks more OEM process than PR :)

Once the brackets are installed, you wont have to pull them out again. For what I am using them for, this worked a lot better being that these can work a lot better with an e85 tune. For the longest time I was running S55 coils to compensate for e85 and still had a ton of timing corrections and fuel cuts. From the first drive, these have been running so much better. Plus, I've heard some iffy things regarding the PR coils, a lot people end up going back to stock. For the money, this is a great upgrade. I will be getting my car dyno'd soon to see what she does with the current setup. Appreciate the comment though!

Yeah it should be fine as long as you can see the spring near the end of the boot. It just has to sit on top of the spark plug

Why’d you have to disconnect the battery? Don’t think that affects it.

Its usually recommended to disconnect the battery when working with electrical parts. Just a precaution

It looks like you didn’t have to trim the wire channel brackets when you did the install like some people did

I just installed mine and this is how I was able to do it without removing the plastic that holds the harness with the Eldor coils 1. Remove top nut that has the brown "ground" cable just to move the cable out of the way. 2. Remove the bottom nut/screw and pulll it out. 3. Place the NXS bracket and more or less align it and cable manage without screwing in the long nut/screw. 4. Install the B58 coil and push it in the spark plug with the NXS bracket loose. 5. Hand tightened the B58 coil screw to the NXS bracket. 6. Install the other B58 coil next to it and hand tight again to the NXS bracket. 7. Install the plug & play wires just on the B58 coils for now. 8. Now align the NXS bracket with the B58 installed and push both in and with your other hand tighten the NXS bracket with the 10mm nut/screw. 9. Tighten the top brown cable nut with an 8mm socket. 10. Use 1/4 rachet with an extension and a 10mm socket. Thanks to this video I knew the installation was possible without removing the plasic harness.

My bracket for cylinder 1&2 won’t sit flush the wiring harness blocks it from sitting down. How did you make that work?

The fitment is a little bit tight, try moving the harness out of the way at first and then try to tuck them.

So chris has a lot of experience working with the n55 as he had one and helped develop a lot of parts including this nexsys kit. Hes fixed tunes for me in the past and not to mention he developed the reflex kit which is absolutely amazing

@@islandracewerks Wow! I didn’t know he took part in all of that. I was looking into David Shoup but now I have another option! I have an ‘18 m2. Most of these other tuners I’ve heard of like using MHD. Unfortunately, I have the bm3 software. I hope Chris can tune with bm3?

The energy of the blue is lower than the original product, so there is no point in replacing it. Misfire is severe at high revs. You can check the data flow.
