WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use KZbins lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and KZbin deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

That submariner comparison should prove interesting. Homage always get the rehaute wrong. But Seestern did their's pretty close. Mostly its: "the dial is too deep".

Personally, I find San Martin's cheaper homage offerings more tempting than their MEH Jianghun original designs. The reason homage watches are so popular is that the original designs were so good they became iconic.

I'm actually liking what I'm seeing from all the Jianghun Watches being offered so far. Also, I know San Martin are all the rage for people, but most of their offerings tend to not really do much for me, so I am intrigued by this new brand. But I like unusual watches, so I guess I'm more their target demographic anyway! I can't wait to see their full details, images, and specs on these new ones. :D

After a while you see the Steeldive is with the deepest rehaut you have ever seen. Then you wonder if that is the reason why the date magnifying is so wrong. Then you start to notice the finishing and the jingliness of the bracelet. Even the clasp feels cheap when you use one with push release. It's very cheap but can you live with those.

​@@santtis every time I wear my SD1953, that rehaut starts to haunt me like the abomination it is. The watch is quite good looking honestly, but that rehaut, that weird magnification, that thickness, that 500g caseback - I won't really recommend that watch to anyone with a finer taste honestly.

Being in the US I just can’t wear Mandarin on my dial. I only ordered the Engineer, simply fantastic watch BTW, after they removed the IXDAO and replaced it with a “not calavtrava cross”

the second one is called the Architect. It was the official photo of one of their main instagram account. I just checked and they changed it to their war drum watch with a Panda (real Panda) dial, looks cool if they actually make it.

07:16 - Aij, that bulging caseback really makes that watch a lot less wearable (for me). It doesn't "sit" on your wrist, it "floats" over your wrist, in a heavy way :p

Feels like the chinese gov lent on their company to do more pro chinese designs and branding. The new direction seems kind of abrupt and theyre normally very receptive to feed back, id go as far as to say that it's a part of their business model. But they flat out refuse to acknowledge the negative feedback for this brand direction.

Just got that Cadisen chrono for about £35. It's OK, bit jangly and the buttons on my aren't great. Wierd to have what would usually be the chrono hand as the regular seconds hand.

Oooh - I'm very much looking forward to different case shapes, bezel designs, and dials and hands combos. There's been a lot of overlap among brands, and sometimes sheer boredom in designs, and this could be an interesting development, especially since San Martin's rep for finish ensures a nice product. I just hope they keep the prices down.

I took your advice and bought a San Martin watch and after five days it stopped working. You pull the crown out and the hands are stuck. Don’t think I’ll buy these offbrands anymore. The San Martin Finishing was beautiful. I love the bracelet, but I don’t understand how they can mess up an NH35 movement

I like the look of the Escapement Time watch but, man is that logo bloody awful ! On the plus side though it does make the Addiesdive logo look like a work of art. As for the San Martins, there is no way on earth I would ever contemplate spending that much money for an NH34 movement.

This may or not work for them I know it's early days but San Martin watches have dragged themselves up to actually make a name for themselves and make watch lovers appreciate what they have to offer, I'm not sure about "Jianghun" it could dilute what they have achieved, think I would rather have a San Martin original.

What would poses an already well established company (which i love) San Martin ! to make another brand of watch called jianghun ?? i just see no sense in it whatsoever because even if they make a watch that i liked and wanted i wouldn`t buy it because of the brand name.i really think they have shot themselves in the foot with that name and have probably closed the market to Europe ,UK and USA by doing so , or is it just me ?

We should consider the increasingly likely possibility it was never actually intended for a Western audience in the first place. It's a strong enough name for the Chinese domestic market, with design sensibilities that are more likely to appeal over there as well. They know San Martin works well enough for us.
