Loved your perspective! Chanel really needs a modern designer to bring it into the new era of fashion, bags and overall vision. Either MK&A or MB would do it. I agree my heart would love to see a MK&A. Something about seeing those images of them from the late 00s, and throughout the yrs in Chanel, and seeing how they have always been able to evolve in a forward way with the times with their own line. They would be able to bring out something in Chanel that we have yet to see. Also so important, MB inviting Jools and Imane Khelif was such a beautiful moment at the last show. Either way I think Chanel considering these designers would be sublime❤❤❤

Couldn’t agree more!!!!!! There’s something so incredibly intentional about Mark-Kate and Ashley 🖤 Their vision would be instantly iconic at Chanel, and it seems as though work really is their passions (I’ve heard especially MK 😍) and so a couple years designing for both Chanel and The Row would be doable for women who already so so much 🙏🏼 Not to mention a woman led design team would be a breath of fresh air 😍 Thank god for people like Matthieu Blazy, Daniel Roseberry, Jonathan Anderson, Olivier Rousting who I believe are really bringing community and inclusiveness back into fashion 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

Been thinking about this all weekend. Selfishly, I want Matthieu Blazy to stay at Bottega. His high-craft and intelligent approach to design makes his collections at BV so desirable! I want nearly every piece that goes down his runways...especially his coats. ugh lol He'd do well at Channel I think! He's a designer's designer. He knows how to work within the house codes, yet puts his own stamp on the brands he works at. I hope after seeing the multiple puff pieces that came out the past couple days, Kering pays MB whatever he wants so he stays. lol TBH, I think Galliano and MJ have better chances, especially with Anna Wintour seeming to back those two (Galliano's MM haute couture show push by Vogue, Marc's "guest editor" piece for Vogue).

Omg I literally couldn’t agree with you more… MB is LITERALLY the definition of a “designers designer…” you’re brilliant 😍😍😍😍😍😍 I am TORN!!!! I do agree, those f**kers at Kering better up their pay because we all would be devastated to see him leave Bottega… on the other hand… I have to say, if it’s any one of the old guards no offense… I’ll continue not really paying Chanel any mind 😅🙈😂🤣 I guess we’ll know for sure in the next couple weeks 😜😜😜😜

Personal values are everything. Your perspective is very interesting on why either of these designers should go to Chanel. I selfishly want the Olsens to stay at The Row. Take Matthieu Blazy!

Awwww thank you… I really do agree!!! And I definitely think the cheat code would be if MK&A go to Chanel they’d ABSOLUTELY never leave The Row! Same as Jonathan Anderson, Marc Jacob’s, Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen… and MK&A for Elizabeth & James… I think they’d stay at The Row of course and design for Chanel for a couple years. Plus I think their staff and team is so infused with their DNA The Row will never ever change (thank GOD they’re young enough that they’ll probably be the CD’s of The Row for the rest of our collecting life 🙏🏼🖤) I guess we’ll just see what happens 😅😅😅😅😅😅

@@lelasophia I really don't love designers who go to other houses after having their namesake brand, like just focus on your thing! Take Gabriela Hearst, who I've personally never really been a fan of, but she delivered a very different collection after leaving Chloé. It just never really works. My hope is that we leave The Row alone. Hah!

When you say the olsen's would bring back quqlity. Is that really how this whole thing works. The quality started going bad when Karl was there. I don't think the designers have anything to do with the quality issues so much as the owners who want things quickly and done cheaply.

You’re right, I really have no idea how it all works when negotiating with the CEO’s for cost of goods budgets… 🫠 I think I’m going based off of some examples where I as a consumer or fan have seen the quality change either way as soon as a new creative director is established. In the positive way, Daniel Lee really flipped the quality at Burberry. The Ricardo Tisci era was interesting and he really tried to modernize Burberry from a streetwear perspective, but the quality really went downhill in my eyes. The second I started feeling the fabrics and leathers Daniel Lee brought to the house I knew he was doing a brilliant job!!! Or Pharrell for Louis Vuitton. While I don’t agree with why on earth this would happen within one house at one singular time lol, but the “Pharrell Speedy” is apparently thousands of dollars more than the exact same Women’s Leather Speedy, not just because of the added bells and whistles but because of the much higher quality leather that P is using for the house. At the end probably my wishful thinking, but perhaps quality is a major part of these negotiations?? Designers like Mary-Kate and Ashley and Matthieu Blazy I can’t see tolerating the current quality of Chanel; while perhaps someone like Marc Jacobs, who may really prioritize designs and collaborations over leather types, would 🤷‍♀️ (no hate to Marc Jacobs lol!)
