Not having a go at you, but your driviv style let the car down a lot, took me a while to work out my next gen, I spend most weekends up the Vic high country hunting in mine, they like to stay in 2nd gear and slip the trans. Whicb causes that loaded up stalled feeling u got on the first hill. Manual select 1st gear and u will be surprised, I’m still yet to fit a front locker but it’s high on my list and seeing it help u makes me want it even sooner.

Also watch your trans temps as in Auto all the time my trans gets hot on hills but manual shifting it’s fine

That's a good tip about the manual gear selection. So far only beach driving seems to bump up my trans temps, but I'll keep an eye out.

All these gizmos make me anxious. I'll stick with my 04 Triton. Mechanical injector pump, locking front hubs, solid LSD in the rear. Can't go wrong. Good vid.

That Triton sounds like one to hold onto. Nothing beats old school tech for getting it done. Cheers.

@joecolliscollis3512 I get why you might say that, I'm the first to admit I've got more to learn, but it aint just my bad driving. Check out the link below to watch a legit professional struggle with the same car on the same hill (time 7:22). They tried to demonstrate two-foot driving in the new ranger to improve smoothness, but the ECU doesn't like the use of both pedals at the same time and they had to pull the vehicle from the demonstration (and that part is cut out of the video, but I was there that day). These new cars can be too smart for their own good, but they have their redeeming qualities as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5DMXplsd6qUn80si=8kR8khuCo7trInLn&t=442

man the endless beeping inside the cabin. can that be turned off or the new rangers still that annoying in low range
@TheAdventurousPursuit11 ай бұрын
Yes, it can be turned off, just forgot to. Its not as noticable in real life, I think camera was just too close to the speaker. Will turn it off next time.

@TheAdventurousPursuit it wasn't a critique of your video or recording, I was wondering if the new Ranger was like the Dmax with the intrusive safety features and endless beeping. If you can turn it off, mint.
@TheAdventurousPursuit11 ай бұрын
@michaelbaylis1631 yeah I've driven the bt50/dmax and the ranger is way less intrusive in my opinion. Cheers mate!

@@michaelbaylis1631u can turn it off simply one press of a button that’s on the centre consoule pretty much behind the gearstick. It’s the parking sensor going off
