Interesting take on the bike. I've had my Tuareg 660 since September 2022. The only thing I can agree with you on is the "Oil Window" I haven't suffered any of the issues you mention. Servicing the engine bolts to the factory torque setting in line with the manual seems to have avoided the engine leaks etc.

Agree with the raised fender, it could come handy in muddy terrain. Personally I would like a stronger reinforced dash, that can withstand rocky terrain even with a navigation tablet

I love my Tuareg. I rode 11k miles up to Alaska and back, and I don' t think there is a better mid-size adventure bike out there. For your high fender idea, I think the Tenere 700 has a fender with two positions. It should be possible.

Remove 8 front fender bolts. Raise fender so that the lower fender holes line up with the top holes of the fork fender mounts. Put 4 bolts back in. Maybe give an inch extra clearance.

Camel ADV has a high fender kit. There are aftermarket grippers for the suspension adjustments.

Some have had Fuel Sensor Failures, any problem with yours? Oil Glass YES! New Rally version just announced at EICMA with High Fender!

Yes! Mine is currently failing around 5,000 miles. I also have some engine case leaks (oil) around the stator plug and the catalytic converter. All issues are going to be fixed under warranty!! Man my heart lit up when I saw the new Rally!! I know it's not worth swapping out of my Tuareg to jump into that, but boy do I want to lol. I am currently holding out for a bike that may or may not come to be - a Tuareg 450. I think we'll get one, and I think that bike will be like a lighter weight rally should we ever get it. I would like to have that in addition to the likely-more-road-capable Tuareg 660

smaller Tuareg would be nice for Alpine Loop Silverton to Lake City. This last Summer I rode my 2018 Multi 950 from Silverton to Animas Forks and turned around before California Pass. It was way too heavy and the Ducati would overheat if going up slow in 1st gear. Does the Tuareg 660 cooling fan come on when climbing hills?

Aren’t you worried about an oil window getting broken. And what about the front fork problems. Other than that I agree with your assessments. Also, it would be nice if they made ADVs a bit lower for people that are genetically shorter.

Goodness, I've been following you since Schofield Pass. But where the heck are you filming from - ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL BACKGROUND!! Was not aware of your accident, sorry to hear it, was it on the bike? My Tuareg has got 8K on it but not in the least bit been tested like yours. Can't say I miss any of the upgrades you mentioned, but then so what, they would be useful - especially the oil glass - OR - how about a dip stick that isn't BLACK PLASTIC, my gawd that's awful to read!! (I must add I don't lose a drop of oil in my 3.5K oil change intervals). A taste higher fender is also a nice idea w/o going whole hog beak high. Hey, glad you're back to riding, catch you on the next vid.......

The gasket issue is well known and was fixed during my first service, the early models are affected by it.

Picking one up next week...aero seems to be so much of an issue on these adv bikes as you're sitting up in the air like a sail...it'd be nice to have some aftermarket options for the front-mid-area aerodynamics as well...like a deflector of sorts

Love my Tuareg but KYB screwed up assembly of the of the compression damping piston in the left fork leg. It's installed upside down which crushes the shim stack. Very fixable but a PITA that you need fix their screw up. This was fixed at some point during 2024

I don't know if that's simple, but I would really appreciate longer 6th gear.

Front guard - agreed. Screen - agreed. Oil window - agreed. One extra - pretty much the only thing that actually annoys me about my brilliant Tuareg: Why the heck is there no "fuel range to empty" function on a computer that calculates all the parameters required to give this figure....where the heck is this filmed. btw? when I get to the States, I would defo love to ride there.

I really like the video, just not so much over expectations. Had to stop watching, get it the point.
