In india pots making was and is a profession from long back . Most villages a particular community called Kumbaras used to do this. Olden days grains were stored and even cooking used to be done. After mettalic utensils came out we see slowly this culture faded.

What an incredible episode!! Iranian hospitality is really heart touching. I can feel Mohammad's excitement in hosting you. He literally showed everything he has and just wanted you to absorb in the atmosphere. Him letting you drive the car, showed how far went far to make you feel happy and indeed developed a friendship. He deserves a warm hug! You are absolutely right about the emotional bonding that develops when you start spending time with people and they express their love. The same happened with me in Russia and I really cried. It hurts me every time I say "goodbye". Such warm and lovely people all over! I was really hoping to see something more in this city and that's when you came in with the pottery and ceramics!!! Loved it!
