How do you go about deciding on the frequency ranges for that multiband compressor?

Generally by the various ranges - i.e. sub content, low-end, low-mids, mids, high-mids, highs etc. Definitely depends on the source track as well!

Primarily for extra bite in that region. That was actually a last minute decision I had made for these mixes, but that it could use a bit more presence there.

I have it double tracked; panned hard right and hard left. And then I mix the two together! 😊

The thing here is how you dial the raw tone. Raw sounds already good.

Agreed. I tried to get the raw tone as close as possible to what I wanted it to be originally - but there’s some extra production/synths that are happening behind these guitars, so these moves are primarily just to make room for the other tracks. 😊 Good ear, though! Happy you dig it!
