I lost to this deck at my last Set Championship playing Emerald Amethyst. He won game 1 getting 14 lore in a turn. I won game 2 easily and had him 19-8 lore game 3 with Queens Castle and 3 characters on it. He got 12 lore on the turn before I win automatically at the start of my turn. He basically drew nothing but draw cards/floodborn characters that allowed him to get the 5 lore after a whole new world due to Blue Fairy getting additional draws. I drew 11 cards didn’t hit a goat or I win the turn before he beat me Goat was the next card I would have drawn.I’m building a version of this deck to try out.I suspect I easily win if I prevent that value from Blue Fairy. I was going to add some evasive help but at last minute decided against as this was the only deck evasive really concerned me. Sadly I played the only Jafar deck missing the top 8 cut and he eventually got a top 4. It’s a fun deck but still seems very reliant on hitting the combo to win. As I’ve never lost to the Jafar deck without them getting 10+ lore from Jafar being exerted.

The game is great, but it's hindered by not having the ability to play cards on your opponent's turn. I don't mind it personally, as it forces one to make better decisions on their turn, since they can't simply react to an opponent. The problem though, comes from cards like Jafar. As the game adds cards, the Jafar combo becomes much more potent. It already has some serious potential to get stronger from Urusula's Return and the cards available there. Once players are consistently winning out of nowhere, by as early as turn 5, it will cause problems for the game's competitive scene. Ravensburger has dug themselves into a hole that they can only get out of by printing Instants into it. Whether or not they do, we don't know. I don't have actual faith in them doing so, based on the fact that they still don't have a max hand size to discard down to at end of turn. Or based on the fact that they thought that a best of 2 format was the way to go. Or the fact that they don't allow for sideboards. I love the game and it's potential, but I question its viability as a serious competitive card game if they don't make changes. Your problems with the loss, despite the fact that you played 3 games at your venue, came from the lack of a sideboard to deal with the Blue Fairy and its Evasive. No one wants aggro to be a problem, but the easiest way to beat combo decks like the Jafar deck is to simply score faster than they can combo. It's made for pretty stale games.

I played two ways. I'm enjoying Jafar Wheel with Emerald much better. Card draws are the 3 of lamp item 2 cost, 3 Prince John, Maleficent 3 cost, FOTOS 3 cost, rabbit 4 cost, and Madam mim rival of merlin to rush a 4 cost for free play a rabbit. That draws two cards. 2 ring the bell for removal. Some of my other characters are evasive. Ratigan, 2 sir his, and 2 or 3 ray and 3 ratigan or 4. Urusulla deceiver4 of those. 2 hypnotize, 4 sudden chill, 4 Flynn rider, 2 de vil manor, 2 del vil manor and 2 pascals and 4 madam Fox. You can mix it up, butnits been fun. Got me 9 lore in one turn. People don't see it and the other player is discarding. Forgot 4 Jafar illusionust
