Next Talk: Youth Leadership

Dr. Darlene Locke of Texas 4-H takes time to visit on the importance of youth leadership. Research shows that 4-H members excel beyond their peers. The Texas 4-H program aims to develop each member into a positive, well rounded and competent leader. Everyone is born with specific talents, interests, skills and abilities. Using 4-H projects and activities, youth at any age can develop their leadership skills through education and practice. Leadership skills development begins with curriculum resources but is amplified with actual leadership experiences. Empowerment and engagement of youth in meaningful leadership roles is essential to the future of the Texas 4-H program.
