Aaron's character (Gabe) died when he was just a little baby but the mother when through so much emotional trauma that she was affected mentally and she sees him still. So he is a figment of her imagination and only she can see him. Here she is speaking to a therapist who is trying to help and the figment is fighting back so to say. The whole musical is available through youtube and it is AMAZING. Aaron is great in it.

Aaron is a force of nature in this song. I have no idea how he can run/jump/swing like that and still sing as amazingly as he does. He's every bit as good as this in a real show too.

I just saw Next to Normal today. It was AMAZING. I saw it with the understudy Jessica Phillips, and she was AMAZING, better I think than Alice Ripley. Aaron, needless to say, was AMAZING. plus I loved the therapist, hilarious!

i loved this musical! i just saw it this weekend. sadly, as everyone knows, aaron wasn't there but kyle dean was still amazing. for anyone who has seen it, who's fave part was where diana first met dr. madden and he kept singing rock? i loved that part and couldn't stop laughing. for those who haven't seen it, might not get what i am saying but it was my fave part.

I like Aaron's performance because it shows the more yearning, innocent side of Gabe as opposed to Curt Hansen's performance, where he was playing the dark sadistic side. Both were great, but Aaron seemed more real, where as you could tell Curt was trying to play on Gabe's inconsistency.

It both takes away and adds to the performance, sure his voice isn't as "pretty", but it makes Gabe seem so much crazier and show offy, which I like a lot more than boring pretty voiced gabe.
