I have areas I that didn't survive the winter. Thought they'd bounce back when temps warmed up. With the wet & cold spring, they more or less just died. After fert & RGS at start of season. When these areas didn't respond, I sprayed D-Thatch & Air8 - going heavier in those spots. Then I painted those areas black with Humic12. Starting to see some green poking through. I'll go out next week w/RGS again. Keep up the great work, Paul

Yet another great video. You know, you told me last week to be patient with the compaction cure on my bare spots. I like what you're doing with the weekly apps. We have several days, maybe weeks, in the 90s. And little rain. I have just about everything in the N-ext arsenal, minus the 18-0-1. I think I may go full nuclear unicorn snot to safeguard and continue the progress and protect the lawn.

Not sure if you are still repling here, I found this vid after purchasing these products. Following Allyn LCN warm season plan. I searched his blog for sod care and bare spots, and found info to buy these. So, questions, should I alternate weekly as you mention for sod and bare spots? or the painting the bare spots and apply rgs, but how often to repeat? St aug, gulf warm season. Thanks.

Nice video man!!! Quick question..I had to spot seed an area along my driveway that got some Belgian block installed and a patch where a bush was removed and the area was filled with a nice topsoil. The seed has germinated and growing but I wanted to know if any of the Greene County products would work nicely with new seed? I have the Bio-Stim pack so I'm ready to make it rain on that seed!! LOL
@NExtDIYLawn
@NExtDIYLawn 5 жыл бұрын
I would do a follow-up fertilizer application of 18-0-1 GreenePunch 15-20 days after the seeding. I would do 12 ounces per 1,000 sq. ft. of that and 3 ounces per 1,000 sq. ft. of RGS. Resume regular fertility program at 30 days Post-Seeding. Meaning, rotate back to label rates and timing of GreenPunch and the Bio-Stim pack. Hope that helps! - Castleberry

Great information... I have a question about summer heat and the product application. I have been using the N-EXT products since the fall after my re-seeding (starter pack purchaed from GCI) So, now that the HOT weather has arrived do I understand correctly that de-thatch and Air-8 should be applied together? And these products should be applied every 2-3 weeks at a rate of at least 3oz per 1,000 sq ft?
@NExtDIYLawn
@NExtDIYLawn 5 жыл бұрын
Great question! Heat is going to help D-Thatch do its job really well. So now is a great time to apply it. Apply at a minimum rate of 6 ounces per 1,000 sq. ft. and a maximum rate of 9 ounces per 1,000 sq. ft. Dilute with enough liquid to cover 1 acre. Do not apply with less than 7:1 dilution with water. Product can be applied as often as every three weeks depending on thatch layer thickness. For the Air8, you can stick to the 3 ounces per 1,000 square feet once a month. Hope that helps. - Castleberry

I like the every other week approach. RGS one week will help drive the roots of the turf while Humic12 the next week will pump carbon into the ground to strengthen and extend nutrients to last longer. So by rotating between the two, we are training the turf to do something different each week, which will in the long term, will make it healthier and look better. We want long term gains, not short term!

Brother, I need some advise I have been using these products since last summer and me and my grass are still struggling. Short end Irma took out a corner of my house via the next door neighbors 200ft rotten Oak tree. Soo, i cut down 10 of my tress just in the front yard. I hygroseeded bermuda in the front cause dude said , it will blend with the centipede... NOT. So then I seeded perennial rye over it last fall , Looked great for Christmas, when company came. But now I got 2 different colors again. 3k Centipede and 5k half ass Bermuda On a corner lot. Don't know whether to kill it all this Fall and try titan Turf type, or....? Come see me Please Im in Stone Mountain. I can't be trusted with this decision.

N-Ext DIY Lawn Thanks, I’ll try that. I still don’t understand why the turf couldn’t manage both at the same time as well as it could when split, unless it’s like trying to multitask, and effectively you end up doing neither task as well as you would have been able to do just one by itself? Kinda allowing the turf to focus on a single goal weekly?
