DIY Shower Bench | Wood Bench Water Resistant

Hey everyone - HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Today we're finally making a shower bench, something we've wanted for a while now! Now that we have a stand up shower (no more tub) there's nowhere for me to sit to shave, or to sit to clear my sinuses with the steam while I shower, so we made a beautiful bench! This was our first time going to a lumber yard (crazy, right?) so we were able to get the most beautiful wood, that's actually straight, and water resistant!

I'm so happy to have found this video as all the others on KZbin are for built in stone benches. Can you guys give an update on how this bench is holding up? Have you had to re-seal it or do you foresee needing to re-seal it in the near future? Thank you!

It’s still in perfect condition like the day we made it! I don’t see needing to reseal in the near future, especially if using this African mahogany, the guys at the lumber yard said we didn’t even need to deal with because it’s an outdoor quality wood!

Awesome Job! I either need a shower chair or a bench in my tub. I have arthritis in my joints and can't stand like I used to.

It’s still looks like the day we made it! The professional at the lumber yard told us this wood would hold up (even in a shower) longer than we’ll be alive 😂 so the fact we also marine sealed it, which wasn’t even necessary, was really just for the clear finish more than to help it last longer
