I’ve bought some of the alternatives to Sony. Note these cards are VPG 200 (the 200 in the slate). This means the card ensures a minimum sustained write speed of 200 megabytes per second . The VPG400 address your statement @ 08:50.

What’s the difference in this card that says 200 vs the Nexstorage Pro version at 400? Not sure what that number means, it’s inside of a time code clacker.

I believe its just future proofing it to be vpg400 certified which is the new standard and a bit more heavy duty for pro work

A lot of good information here but we should all remember that the need for higher bit rates is not related to a target platform's bit rate. That information is needed for editing. The lower the bit rate you record in, the easier that image breaks apart in edit. For example, significantly raising shadows in an 8bit video would result in a great amount of noise versus no noise in a 16bit video. I'm certain there's an Arri video around here somewhere demonstrating this.

In sustained write you only have 300mb or so with that card, tho they have a "pro" series that have like 700mb sustained guaranteed at 250 bucks for 320gb, also they have a software to get back files if they got corrupted or else

Based on the info you linked I don’t think they are a subsidiary of Sony. Sounds like it was formed by former Sony employees.

Why would you use a CF express type A reader? Your camera works as well as a card reader so you just need a cheap USB-c cable.
@flproductions902 ай бұрын
@@greggeis918 the transfer speed from your camera is far slower than that of a dedicated card reader.

@@flproductions90 "USB Type-C connector supports SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps (USB 3.2). A USB Type-C connector" Maybe it depends on the model, I believe the A1 and A9 III are 10 GBPS, I guess I didnt check all models.
