This reminds me of how fun it was to trick or treat. An hear me out, kind of not really quick story. We always got our parents to buy large amounts of candy because not many people came to our house so we could have the extras. My parents would decide on one person to go with us and one to say home. My last Halloween my mom stayed home. She ended up getting lazy and just put the bowl outside after a couple minutes. No sign or anything. A group of middle schoolers raided the bowl and took all of the candy. My sister and I were mad because of the missing candy, and my dad was mad that she made him do all of the Halloween things with us and didn't play her part. Later I found out that she also took candy from the bin for herself. We also had to end trick-or-treating early because my sister wore uncomfortable shoes. And my dad didn't want to go back out. Not the best last trick or treating experience.

The no candy in your bag trick actually works and I wasn’t even aware of it. I went trick or treating like at 3 PM and filled my bag up, took a break and then I came back to trick or treat at like 8 PM which usually everybody stops at 9 PM in my neighborhood and this guy said “That’s all the candy you got?” Questionable and a nice way. And he ended up filling my bag up quite a bit this was 2 years ago, actually maybe 3. I was pretty happy and he also had some of those big m&m bars which costed like 3 dollars per bar when I looked it up and that’s when they were popular. That was fun. 🎃

exactly. i have mainly used those treat baskets everyone has used before but it didn’t hold much candy. it also spilled. this year, i plan to use a tote bag or backpack update for yall: i used a tote bag this year and i didn’t spill any candy! it also was able to hold more ; i really recommend using one

Here's a hack that I'm going to use this year: Put a pack of raisins, an apple, a pear, or anything that isn't candy in your bag. The people handing out candy might feel bad and give you more pieces of candy. Make sure to move the non-candy item to the top if it gets covered up

I don't each that much candy, if any, but my strategy is to go to the busy street very early. Make sure that you run to every house that you go to. If nobody is at the door, take more than one for sure that way you can farm getting candy from rich neighborhoods in your town. Whenever someone is at the door and they don't have a sign for how much you can take, always clarify how much before asking.
