Its still insane that not all NCAA teams use the same brand of basketball. This is an issue in the tournament every year about the balls being different

You can't look at opponents PPG to grade Bama's defense. Opposing teams will generally always score more just based on Bama's pace of play. It's almost inevitable just because of the amount of shots their opponents get to take. Now, saying that, I will say I agree with you both about that still being their biggest concern. But that's mainly because they're just so good on the other side of the court. But they still have carrless mistakes on defense that will bite them if they don't get it corrected, as y'all both pointed out. Even still, this can be a very talented defensive team as well. Top 50 at this point is nothing to sneeze at.

I came here to say the same thing. It’s just a lazy take to say “Alabama isn’t good defensively because teams tend to score above their average against them”. Well duh! If my teams gets an extra 10-15 extra possessions in the course of the game we should score more points than usual. You have to look at it from a point per possession stance rather than an overall game. So if my teams averages 1.3 ppp and bama holds them to 1.2 ppp then they held them to a lower average than normal yet the team might have scored 4-8 more points total for the game based on sheer volume of chances.
