We really enjoyed the factory tour! We've done a few over the years and they're pretty interesting
@stephenwhite9869 Жыл бұрын
I own a Nexus Wraith 32W. We picked it up at the factory in early April 2018. We tried to get Liquid Spring suspension and Valor TPMS installed before taking possession. We finally picked up the motorhome from the factory with Liquid Springs installed. The turn over from the factory was a joke. The bay doors leaked; we learned little about the motorhome. Nexus was good at taking care of our issues during the first year. The lady in charge of customer service in 2018 was awesome. After the warranty period ended so did any support from Nexus. I would call parts, their main number, West Coast Parts manager; I never received a call back. We are happy with the motorhome, just not with their support.
@WanderingWagners Жыл бұрын
Every time we call/email it pretty much gets the same response that you mentioned but it was like that from the beginning. I think they need more people in customer service/parts and the industry as a whole has a hard time keeping good employees, unfortunately. They want to do well, they've just been very understaffed for many years imo

When ever possible use the rake that can spin. And we found that using the correct temperature and time usually works.
@WanderingWagners4 жыл бұрын
We don't have a spinning rack, just two different stationary ones. I think you're right about the temp and time except certain things like pizzas, our convection doesn't get hot enough to do the normal temp as it only goes up to 425 and not to 450. Other than that I might test out the true time and temps instead
@stuwardw4 жыл бұрын
@@WanderingWagners use the stand one you used in the video, on the microwave glass plate you can spin it, that is the best way to bake we found. We just spent 3 months in our 2019 5th wheel during a full gome remodel and learned a lot about convection baking. Your new rig is awesome

@jeepsandrvs4 жыл бұрын
Nexus seems to be a company with quality in mind. It will be good to see how you rig delivers on quality over time. On the convection side - it looks like you are doing a lot right. We use a round pizza stone for pizza and breads with the round stand versus the shelf. Our convection oven has two convection modes - bake and a roast. The roast is better for denser foods. The type of cookware is important - rounded edges versus straight edges.
@WanderingWagners4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips! Nexus is really trying and turning around the poor workmanship and issues they had with their processes. We could definitely see it when we were on the tour!

Great video! Looking at a Rebel. Do you have any thoughts about current build quality or this specific model? Thanks
@WanderingWagners3 жыл бұрын
We have been meaning to go out to the factory to look at a rebel and do a video but haven't yet. I would imagine it would have the same typical new RV build issues to workout like checking for loose connections/water leaks etc. That was the majority of our issues
@jasonclift72534 жыл бұрын
Thank ya'll for the video - We hear so much negative about quality control with RVs and glad to hear Nexus is concerned about this. We are gravitating towards the Wraith. Our only concern is the TV placement and the shower size on some of them. Keep up the great info videos. :)
@WanderingWagners4 жыл бұрын
They aren't perfect but none of them are! They are really trying to improve and we could see it at the factory tour. The TV pavement is big with us too but for super C's this is pretty good for us. Mike is 6'2" and doesn't complain about the shower if that helps any. Thanks for watching!

How's the power on that rig with the toad? Have you done that pass (windy? fancy?) you did in the gas truck yet?
@WanderingWagners4 жыл бұрын
The power is good and we honestly can't tell a difference when we have the toad or not. We haven't done any bigger grades with it yet, like fancy gap, so I'm sure we will update and have a video once we put it through some different terrain

@@WanderingWagners I had my eye on the nexus. Does it feel as peppy as a diesel truck+trailer to you? We pass a lot of class A on the hills in our diesel+trailer... Diesel super C seems like the way to go because it can easily tow a big boat!
@WanderingWagners4 жыл бұрын
It does really well off the line but it slows down on the top end. With the toad we are over 26,000 lbs though where our truck and Airstream weighed 10k less. We don't expect to win any uphill races but it WILL get the job done.

I know its a Cummins engine but what size Cummins is it? Is it just the same size as in the dodge pickup? I'd want a step up from the 6.7 or 6.8 or whatever is in the dodge truck.. I know it doesn't need a true semi truck engine but Im too used to a semi engine and want that big truck engine torque! It would be weird (to me) driving this rig without having a manual shifter lever for a 13 speed transmission. You got a really nice setup.
@WanderingWagners4 жыл бұрын
It's a 6.7L, I agree that there is no replacement for displacement! I was a little leary at first but with 4.88 gears it actually does a real good job. Even towing the Jeep you don't know it's back there.

The light the factory installed for you is great. Now that there is power there would you consider a LED strip light down the door edge to more evenly distribute the light to the individual shelves?

That's an idea, but I think we will modify the pantry shelves so they can be pulled out. That way you can reach things in the back easier

Our convections at home and in the Airstream have preset programable options for lots of thing such as your pizza & brownies. You will figure it out pretty quickly. I was hesitant about the one in the Airstream at first but have come to use it and love it now. A slight learning curve mostly because I didn’t use it regularly enough and I’d forget and overthink it each time I tried it. As you seem to do we use a lot of different cooking options while RVing. So wonderful to have all the options...if only I could remember the tips for each option. Enjoyed the tour. Safe travels.

First off I love to see and hear when a company takes the time to watch videos and listen to customer feedback and that was a cool little bonus for them to take the time and effort to install that light! I think I mentioned before that we toured them back in 2016ish before they had a dealer network and other than not being able to get the motor I had wanted we really liked what we saw but then we looked at some units that were produced for dealer stock in 2019 and man it looked like the quality had slipped so I’m very glad to hear they are pulling things back together! Keep the videos coming and safe travels!
@WanderingWagners4 жыл бұрын
We agree! It was nice to see a few little things they fixed or upgraded without us even asking! They knew from our videos and feedback that we didn't like certain things are really put in the effort to make it right. You're correct about the build quality during that time being poor, our unit is a 2020 but was built under the not so great standards. It was nice to see and hear what they've chanced since then!

Hi guy’s, love the new rig. We’ve had a convection micro in our 5th wheel and at the house here for a long, long time. They’re great, especially in the summer when you don’t want to heat up the kitchen/house. About the only tip we can give you is that each one has it’s own idiosyncrasies much like your conventional ovens do, and once learned cook as such... enjoy, K8WF/KB8AIU.
@WanderingWagners4 жыл бұрын
The bad part about these is they don't vent outside so whether it's an oven or convection microwave, it's heading up the coach. Great in the winter but not so much in the summer unless we crank the AC then it's whatever, just more power usage. It did a pretty good job at the pizza and brownies! We will want to get an oven so it'll give us all the cooking options all the time and makes bigger meals like Thanksgiving much easier with several ways to cook/Bake on hand
