The vehicle glitching is either server specific, such as modded servers, or it is a game engine design flaw, or both. DayZ's game engine is very spawn and place. You can tell by how each separate item is its own object and not tethered to a large network of polygons for cause and effect, like Far Cry sandboxes, where all items are interconnected in a grid system. So the cars are literally operating by their own physics, and it goes haywire because the interaction with the ground, roads, buildings, trees, are all isolated files, probably with different contact thresholds. So a slight bump into a tree or telephone pole sends a car skyrocketing, because they are not optimized for their polygon receptors. It just amazes me that nearing the 10 year anniversary after DayZ made its debut in the gaming sphere, and something as essential as cars can't function properly without being teleported to the shadow realm. It speaks volumes to the developer's priorities. Maybe a DayZ 2.0 with Unreal Engine 5 can finally give the proper engine this game desperately needs.

@@nickramey1141 arma is the base game for dayz, Bohemia interactive had the game arma 2 operation arrowhead which people created the original DayZ mod for, it was a huge success so Bohemia began working on DayZ standalone (this game) its built on the same engine as one of bohemias other IPs (Take on Helicopters). Basically this game isn’t really a game as it was supposed to be, rather they cut the corner and made a mod on a base designed for something entirely different. People are hoping the release of Arma 4 will bring with it a huge change either in a very expansive update or more likely a sequel game built on the Arma 4 engine as DayZ has always functioned better as an Arma mod on both Arma 2 & 3. Basically the devs waited far too long to add vehicles especially helicopters in to a game which already had the functionality for them. People were able to create better functioning mods for vehicles before the devs even announced they were working on them. It’s not a priorities thing, it’s never going to get a proper fix so we just have to wait for the next version of the game and hope the engine change fixes things. Hope that helps 👍

Ever since the DayZ mod, we've been told "dont store vehicles on built items (walls/floors)... basically when the server loads the vehicle in, it jogs it up and down by ~1m, to ensure its on a stable piece of land.. When you do that on top of a floor, the vehicle glitches into the floor and explodes... I've got some photos and videos of this happening.. It really sucks, but thats just how it is. Usually if you want to build a garage, they suggest leaving the "floor" as normal generated terrain, to avoid accidents. Not sure if its the same in Standalone.

Yes dude! I remember spawning in and my little bird now lived inside the wall. We had to wait several server restarts for it to be outside again. Turned out to be a good base raid bug though, wait till someone’s vehicle bugged into a wall, climb in, switch seats and get out in their base

@@VividlyChillin I’m not saying that I need cars to play. I’m just saying it seems like such a massive bug that should be fixed by now.. but it’s not. As a software engineer, if we have any sort of bug that affects a lot of customers, it’s set as highest priority to be fixed asap. DayZ devs either don’t care about fixing bugs or there’s something wrong with their development processes. Either way, an off putting trait for many people who want to play games is a game that is abandoned / not properly maintained by devs.

I haven't played DayZ a day in my life, but I tuned in for a Tarkov styled DayZ the other day and got hooked. I've watched like eight of these long ass videos, lol. Great content, Nez. It's got the power of appeal to pull people from other games similar to this one, but maybe play a little Squad(they have some zombie mods during halloween) and maybe some other fun stuff too like Tarkov and that'll might help grow the channel or something.
