Larry, so glad you took the time to react to this video. I've been hoping you would. I was just as much of a crybaby watching it and I love the overall message of this song! We can choose to be a product of our environment, or we can let our environment become a product of us. God bless.

Thanks for your transparency in your reaction and willing to share a story with us. I was hoping you would get back to reacting to more NF as I have enjoyed your Eminem reactions. I also went to See NF live in Salt Lake City which was probably a different venue than when you went. But glad to see you enjoy the song and from what I know NF seemed to really be proud with this song as it seemed he said that in interviews . One of my favorites and something I really didn't experience. But I love how NF just makes his music and just gets everyone into their emotions.

I usually don't comment, but after watching your reaction and how relatable your unfortunate memories of your childhood made me do this. You are the exact same age as the man who I used to call, dad. I have two siblings who along with me and my mom still have to deal with after all these years despite what he put us through, which he denies and victim blames for anything that went wrong in our upbringing. But, just knowing that a child was able to have a semblance of a normal and peaceful life, being loved and cared for despite the stress and struggles parenting puts on people, gives me more hope for when we have families of our own. I just wanted you to know that. Keep being you and hope for the best for you and your family.

Wow, thanks so much for writing this as I know it's hard to reflect back, but you hit the nail on the head. You now have your marching orders on how to make fatherhood transcend what you had to endure. I'm very active with my boys almost out of defiance of my father, but thankfully there was enough room in my heart for forgiveness. THAT, my friend, is the secret to moving past it. It's really heartwarming to hear you talk the way you do, and I can tell that you're going to be an awesome dad. Blessings my friend.

What an incredible value in your brave words. You say you made a mistake and apologized to your son. Perhaps a remaining echo from your own childhood. You broke through that wall and found the change for yourself and your family. Breaking the cycle has to start somewhere. Bravo, and to all those who break through too. TBTG. On a personal note, this was for you and your subs. You don’t need it anymore. Not to your playlist. Right here, it’s enough. Lay it down.

Songs that hit the emotions and speak on real life, Jonny Cash version of hurt, almost all of Jelly Roll's music, Harry Chapin Cat's in the Cradle, Bob Carlise Butterfly Kisses, James Blunt (multiple songs but especially No Bravery), Five Finger Death Punch (Gone Away and Wrong Side of Heaven), Evanescence (so many songs but My Immortal #1). It all depends on what music you listen to but as sad as it is radio/mainstream is not the most talented, emotional, or lyrical it's just the trendiest so many independent artists with incredible music goes unheard by most.

If you allow everything to repeat itself, you are doomed as an outside observer to watch your own life pass you by. You have to break the circle. You have to take control. Even if everything inside you screams that this is the last thing you want to do. Otherwise you are doomed and with you all those who will try to be close to you against all odds.

Watching your upbeat and happy, confident demeanor at the start of your reaction- and your on-screen self realization of the full weight and meaning of "Happy"- in your own life story- was very touching. Many of social media reactors are way too young or don't have the smarts to comprehend such a complex, emotionally challenging work of art.- Get up, get out and take a 45 min walk in nature- you've been through a lot. After 60+ years I recently spent an hour with a therapist- my learning curve was very steep also.😅😅😅

I'm so happy you did this reaction. I ran out of kleenex the first time I saw this masterpiece, and I cried even more now watching it along with you. I feel so much pain every time I watch this video because it's literally like flashbacks from my childhood. I'm so sorry you had to go through this as well. After hearing what you went through I posted my first ever comment here and shared my story for the first time. Year and a half later I'm here, different man, still alive, thanks to you of course, and you became my best friend. When you said the "I don't want to be like my dad" thing, I had to hit pause... I needed a little break to be able to watch it any further. The fact that I can be like my dad scares me so freaking much that I promised myself as a kid, to never get in any relationship to not hurt anyone. After all those years it messed my mind up to the point that I'm starving to have someone in my life, I would really love to give myself a chance but I'm so used to being alone that I just can't. Thanks for this reaction and for everything else my friend!! Much love!! 🙂❤️

You might have a bad day but the next day you can be better the yesterday you. The message is there is hope in music and as long as you hear the words you can always help yourself out of the dark hole. My real father was a woman beater and I know he was wrong in his choices and I have to remind myself that my DNA doesn't make me make bad decisions. I'm better than him and I have to remind myself everyday that I'm better than that. I'm 41 and I'm not my father. No I'm better. Fantastic reaction

Hi Cutie I wanna give you a big hug filled with warmth and let you cry out those memories 💛 Wow this broke me. As youknow I was in a abusive marrige for 23years. My husband drank lots of alcohole (but he was abusive sober too). I never abused anything but I was to week and broken to leave. My kids have heard the fights so many times. Im free now and my biggest fear is that the kids would be in a same situation. My youngest, my doughter, is 18 now and this spring she was so in love in her boyfriend. But the he turned abusive to her. Luckily she told me so I could be there for her when she broke up the relationship. I have lots of long talks to the kids about their childhood and Im very close to them. Im so happy we can talk about every thing and Im so happy my doughter told me. But I feel its my fault that she had a boyfriend like that. That her childhood made her choose a boy who is like her father. I wish it didnt take me so many years to be strong. Im so angry at myself. I will go an cry myself to sleep now 💔 Take care my friend

I'm so very glad to know that you have a daughter that is willing to let you know what is going on in her life and that she doesn't hide it from you. Even though your kiddo saw things that are hard for them to see, she is also watching you in how you have overcome this situation and sought out a better life without someone in their lives that is abusive. Breaks my heart to think that you feel like you are responsible for what she has seen, but given that she is open to talking with you, that is incredible. Time to pull her in close and to hear her out and be there during this time. I'm betting that she would love to have you walk along side her on this familiar road. Now go to sleep my dear friend. May courage and confidence replace the tears...

@madjackel1375 Жыл бұрын
You didn't catch that the woman answering the door WASNT HER MOTHER. That was her daughter's STEPMOTHER. It wasn't the same girl at different ages. It was a mother only realizing how much she fucked up, after her child had already moved on and found someone else to fill her shoes. In other words, the DAUGHTER found a way to be HAPPY without her. Knowing Nate's story, that makes a whole lot of sense.

Im not writing this for any sympathy, just to add to what you said. I was 5 when I wrote my first suicide note and 6 when I tried to hang myself. Watched my parents fight regularly, mom pushed through doors, things thrown at her, watched her swallow load of pills when I was 16, dad told me he put a shotgun in his mouth and thought about ending it. Was told by my dad when I was 7 that he would kill me and bury me in the back garden. Sexually assaulted by a teacher that my parents knew about but didn't stop. You're right, man. The things we see and experience as a child sticks with us forever. It never gets easier, things just become a memory of a memory
