Not long after our 9 year old daughter passed away ....our son, who was 13 at the time, started really getting into rap and writing out his emotions (definitely therapy) which eventually turned into his own songs. He’s 19 now and has some insane talent but I will never forget the day he heard “how could you leave us“. Ironically I had just gone through shingles and was prescribed some pain medication. He came charging downstairs to play that song for me. He said something like “I had to live through losing a sister but I wouldn’t survive losing you. Don’t....take those”. Flushed them,all. Music.....is powerful
@therealmpk76513 жыл бұрын
Why don't you let us hear some of your son's music? I'm honestly interested in what he has to say because, believe it or not, anything that happens in a child's life affects the way he views the world. Besides NF, Token is another good rapper that is really young but has immense talent. Make sure to support your son in what he does and I'm sorry for your loss. Stay positive!

I’m so sorry for the loss of your mother, absolutely no doubt she is looking over you.. I don’t want to sound like a “crazy lady”.. but did anyone else notice that “orb” which is a sign of spirit (in my spiritualist belief), right at 9:33/9.35 to the left of the screen, just as you’re saying she is watching over you and wouldn’t want you crying. Surely I’m not the only one who noticed it? You couldn’t get a clearer sign than that, you’re Mum most certainly is always watching over you - but wow, right at that moment that fleeting light/orb shows she was right with you. I hope I am not being insensitive with saying that. But I HAD to say something about it. RIP your darling mother, that must be so painful, I can’t begin to imagine. I hope my words bring comfort

Great reaction man and I’m sorry for your loss. This song is definitely NF at his most vulnerable. It’s raw and he literally makes you feel the pain and emotion that he felt while writing the song. “Fun” fact: While recording the last portion of the track, when he’s speaking to his mom, he asked everyone to leave the studio so that he could speak to her alone. He really let loose.

thank you for your raw reaction. This is one of the sad songs that I have ever heard in my life and I cannot get through it without my eyes watering up every time. and if has a way of even if you haven't experienced something making you feel his pain and motion. Not many other artists can do that. Which is why the NF fan base is so loyal. I hope you decide to do some more NF reactions. So sorry to hear about your mom I lost my dad to cancer and my mom is a survivor. My thoughts are with you.

This song hits me every time, I lost my dad when I was 16, my mom got PTSD from it, she started to drink and moved out because she thought it was better for me to not see her fall apart. I was homeless on and off until I turned 18 and could get student housing. Had 16 year old me, hopeless sleeping in laundry rooms in apartment buildings, and going to school with everything I owned in my backpack, had I heard this song back then it would have broken me. Now I got a university degree, two beautiful kids and a husband that loves me. It feels like a lifetime ago, yet when ever I hear this song I’m right back to being 16 again.
