Besides 'How could you leave us', I have never cried so hard listening to any of his other songs. I grew up in a single parent household, and my mum gave me everything, she was my caretaker, as well as the families - she made a lot of sacrifices for that to happen. The part where the father is walking his daughter down the aisle really got me - I will never have that. Instead I have my mum. This video demonstrates the true circle of life, from birth to death. No one wants to bury their loved ones. No one should, but that is not how life goes. It's never easy, but it goes on, "if you want love." NF is a true artist, and an inspiration to us all. One of my many goals this year is to see him live. His fame is seriously under appreciated.

It wasn't until the start of year that everything changed. NF inspired me to take my pain and put it into my own songs to spread a message the same way he does. I'm 43 years old. What this song does very well is really sum up EVERYONE'S LIFE. An endless cycle. Every generation thinks they are new and different but it's just the same ole story with new window dressing of the day. Love pushes us through life. Through the pain. Through the shame, guilt, insecurities, and many times when only see it as time has past. I remember how much i hated my dad growing up. He would push me so hard. Later in life, I understood him completely. While not all of it was positive. I understood his push and motivations. It made me a great father. Unfortunately I never got a chance to say that to him because he committed suicide after I moved away. I remember arguing with him the night before I left and told him how much I never wanted to be like him, how much I hated him, and wished he would just die. My mom said he wasn't quite right after that night. a few months later he hung himself. Stupid childish eyes back then. Now as a dad , I understand him and as the song says "you have to go through the pain". I wish someone told me.
