Hey guys! Just a heads up - because this reaction is to just the song (& not an accompanying video), I was a bit more reflective about the lyrics themselves and what it meant for me, as the listener. (Sorry for all the rambles ahead of time!) 😬 But as we all know, art makes you think & reflect! Have a good day. 🤍

There is no video to this song. Only fan made videos. You did the right version. His actual videos interconnect and are important to watch because of that. They tell a story themselves and all intertwine with each other much like the MCU does. Cheers, I’d do “How could you leave us” next

Every time I’ve heard this song it makes me feel as tho NF is directing a film using only the words he’s chosen, to let us see inside his mind and his life. I can only wonder if he thought at the time of writing and recording this, that he had ultimately chosen words that would show a lot of us a very clear mirror. Brilliant

NF's music is therapy to him. His lyrics and music videos tell a story, about what he has gone through and things he has struggled with. It is a continual journey with many "Easter eggs" showing up many different songs/videos, tying them all together as the journey continues. There is so much insight, and so often his lyrics speak for those who can not find the words to speak themselves. I hope you continue your journey - there's so much more to discover. ♥

Thank you for the thoughtful reaction. Yes, we are all humans, all flawed to some extent, all with a mix of pain and joy (differing in ratio) accumulated from our experiences. So, to look at darkness in an honest way, without being eternally consumed by it, has to ultimately be a positive movement... Art like this can help us see those relatable fears and perhaps, by sharing, loosen the grip or come to terms better with the painful truth.

My Nf friend! Wow..... one of the best first reactions to Nf I’ve seen in a while ma’am and yes his videos do connect like chapters in a novel and a lot of his videos are just lyric videos but as you seen today still tell a story vividly. Um.... I’m completely new to your channel ma’am and I honestly don’t know you yet so I’d love to say yes you need to read every page in this novel but I don’t know if you’re up for that or if you just want the cliff notes. Either way I can tell you that I’ll be here for either route I’ve subbed and can’t wait for it. In my opinion only if you’re doing every page then intro should be your next song, but if you want the cliff notes I can give you like 5 songs that would paint you a picture of our guy here.... in this order .... 1all I have, 2therapy session, 3how could you leave us,4 mama, and 5Hope. Loved the reaction and I’ll see you next video ma’am!

Rap's not my cup of tea, but this song is great art, because it touches me deeply and that's what art is. Whether it's a painting, music, lyrics, poems, books, films... if it touches you, if it brings you emotions and heavy feelings, it's art. And so, thank you Jenna for this Koality video! (Even if I'm not really into rap). Also, well, you impressed me with this one because you weren't prepared and you analysed it really well and on purpose 👍. If you are doing the NF journey, some symbols to understand in his videos. Some are open to debate, some are clearly indicated in the videos, such as black balloons. You will see him at times with some balloons. In one of his videos he points at them as he mentions his burdens. The balloons represent his burdens, I feel, because they don't actually carry any weight, if he just let go of them they would float away, but instead him holding on to them lets them get in his way. That is the level of brilliance you are dealing with here! Also watch the color of his clothes as you go on the journey. The shade of gray is a reflection of his feelings at the particular time in his life he is addressing. He starts off very dark clothed as depression darkens his light. As he writes, he sheds some of his depression. His latest videos have him dressed in clothes that have only a shading of gray to them. Frankly lining his wardrobe up from his videos from dark to light gives you a good indication of the order to listen, if there were not so many internet lists to follow!

NF had a difficult childhood. His parents got divorced when he was very young. He and his two sisters lived with their mother, who was addicted to opioid. One of his mother’s boyfriends physically abused him and one of his sisters, so his father took the three children away. Due to strained relations, the children did not see their mother much. During high school years, NF severed contact with his mother because he felt uncomfortable when the court ordered that a social worker should monitor their conversations. In 2009, his mother died of drug overdose.

Where to begin... or end. I think of you, the reactor - what is your role here? Deconstructing the lyrics, or just reacting to how it makes you feel ... and... what did you bring to the table of yourself today, your own experiences, to which side of the bed did you wake up on. It's a lot to wade through, and do you really want to wade through it? Or just let it wash over you and not have to 'explain' it? The book I'm currently listening to (The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks) doesn't make me feel all that comfortable (non-fiction) but I wouldn't want to talk about how it makes me feel, or have to explain what the characters were experiencing, because how I feel is just a reaction to the story, not having lived their experience. Sort of like how your body language was listening to and processing this song. I feel that vision didn't always match your words. I will encourage you, in general, to be honest about how perceive a video you're reacting to, and not try to 'like' something just because your friend suggested it and said it the best thing since milk toast. Please, I'm not suggesting that you had any specific reaction to today's video. It is what it is at this point, though felt it was something that was rather alien art all things considered. It was a deep dark place I've never struggled with but so was reading One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Well written but I only read it once. Moving along, well wishes for a fine weekend okay? Regards,
@KoalityReactions Жыл бұрын
I’m not quite sure what you mean. I did enjoy the song, and not because someone recommended it. At this point, most songs I’ll be looking at are recommended by people. I like to really listen to a song and reflect on how it makes me feel. I said more than once that I felt the lyrics were universal, and though it was a very personal song to the artist… I definitely connected to it in my own way. If it wasn’t your cup of tea, that’s unfortunate. But I can assure you, I wouldn’t say I liked something if I didn’t. You don’t know me, so you’ll have to take my word for it. I enjoy discussing art, even if it’s uncomfortable. I’m an actor… my whole life is spent being uncomfortable. Hah The joy (and turmoil) of being human is that we feel so many things. Hope you have a great day.

@bertjones3010 so are you saying that you wouldnt feel comfortable talking about how you experienced song/book/movie. What does that have to do with someone else does? Your comment implies that she somehow did something wrong "it is what it is at this point" but neglects to say what was done incorrectly. Her body language while the song was playing just reads as "I'm focusing" (maybe with a bit of "I'm aware that I'm on camera right now"). Its ok if you didnt particularly care for the song. To each their own.
@bertjones3010 Жыл бұрын
@@KoalityReactions I'm not sure what I meant either. I was trying to read your body language and your words. There are reactors who will say they like everything that is recommended to them, and I was just trying to say how much better a reactor is when they are honest. Also, I appreciate when you pause the video and go back a few seconds when you start up because it helps with the continuity of video. I had no real feelings one way or another about video or artist. Normally lyrics are not all that much interest and I treat the voice as just another instrument most of the time. I don't feel I'm a very astute consumer of poetry - so often I don't understand the lyrics. Sorry about my convoluted comment.
@bertjones3010 Жыл бұрын
@@Dyre05 I think I would do best conversing if I'd had experiences that I could relate to what the person is talking about. And I really suck at understanding the underlying meanings of poetry most of the time. Or song lyrics. I didn't dislike NF's video, though at the same time it was hard to relate about being so much in one's head. I did appreciate that I could understand what he was saying. I apologized to Jenna about my comment being so convoluted. And I'm the type of person who pretty much doesn't confront a reactor over their comments even if they disagree with my point of view. (The exception occurs sometimes when the reactor just comes off as a troll.) She is the reason I come back and support her channel. To be honest, I look forward to seeing what she does each day.
