NFC/RFID 3D Printed Rings

In this project we’re embedding an RFID tag into a 3D printed ring.
The micro RFID NFC tag is incredibly small and yet flexible enough to be embed into all sorts of objects.
It features a NTAG203 chip plus antenna and contains 144 bytes of read-write memory. It works with almost any NFC capable tablet and has secure 8-byte user ID.
Although we carry NFC/RFID rings in the shop, it’s much more cost effective to 3D print one and you can also customize it to any size or shape.

check out andrew price, his tutorials are on POINT. you get that going, and understand how to really make your 3D modeled designs to be 3D printable, you can make and create just about anything to help anyone in this world who needs it. it all starts with you though! and only you determine how much effort you're willing to put into making it happen. nothing is impossible though. you got this!

Please make a video for converting RFID tags from the metrocards or bus cards and make it in a form of a ring

You can use an app in your phone, scan the card, and then write the data to your ring/chip/card

@@potatismixer I would use "NFC Tools", it's an orange one with an "N" in the middle, the free version will do the job.

Moto X has unlock option using NFC. Im planing to use for unlocking my phone w/o entering pin every time.

Yep, unlocking Android phone with NFC sounds like a very common use case!

I use a Da Vinci printer, which has chipped filament. I would use the ring to reset the spool every time I want to use a different filament other than the xyzprinting brand

actually, you do. you have access to one right now! :D 3D hubs, i.sculpteo, shapeways.. or you can buy/build an alternative, such as the ono 3D printer, adafruit recently did an interview with them. they print in material just like the one in this video in the same style, with your smartphone. it's about $100, you'll still need to get the resins though, $15 a pop, although it'll add up over time, and you'll probably need do research on the benefits and downfalls of a printer like that so you can an educated decision on whether it's really for you or not. it's a nice start though. along with 3D modelling tutorials, there's alot you can do here. go wild with imagination! the world is yours to explore!

I wouldn't see why not. ideally it would probably be in the turso, but I dunno how the material effects the signal of the NFC, so it may have to be translucent, or perhaps we can make a "hinge door" on the back, so that when it opens up, it reveals the NFC, and we can press it against the NFC target in question and move forward. I can definitely see it being done though! might have to make a bigger lego man too. I dunno if they're as big as a quarter or smaller. it's been a while since i've seen one in the flesh! :D
