This series of films is fantastic. For those of us who support Forest it’s a good reminder of better times at the Club. For a decade we were one of the best teams in England with some of the best players. So many of those players come across brilliantly well in these films - Steve Hodge is one of them. A top bloke and a very honest interview.

As becoming Liverpool fan in the late 80s it been fantastic hearing these accounts of their great rivals. Forest were a great team definitely around that time one of the best 3 teams in the country. Plus never knew about the match fixing in 84 which is shocking that it isnt more publicly known. Hodge had very interesting career very unique.

Great series. Maybe Cloughie encouraged a tradition of players thinking? I'd forgotten he won a Division 1 championship medal with Leeds -- that, and two League Cup winners medals, yet he remembers the defeats more! Seriously driven. Terrific player.

I remember in August of 85, we'd moved to Cornwall 5 years before, but I always got packed off to me grandma's in Lichfield for school summer holidays, so I'd at least get to see the first couple of Villa home games. & maybe an away one if I could scrape the means. I can't quite remember if, it was at home QPR or Luton Town, Villa at home when Steve Hodge was being presented to us, our fans in front of The Holte End, & in either of those games vice versa we had 10,000 & 11,000 odd. I could see Steve Hodge a d even his expressions as clear as day - but,... I was thinking, that he must be thinking to himself, quietly, what, have I done ! We were & are, a bigger club than Forest, but, I don't think we could say, certainly at that time, that we were a better one, I love my club & was chuffed Steve Hodge was signing, but remember being almost dumbfounded at the time, aged 14, thinking, what must he, Steve Hodge be thinking, a player on the up, and if not already, a cert for international caps. Are you watching this and viewing comments, & if so I'd love to know how close I am or not to reading the event correctly. We won the European Cup more recently by 2 or 3 years, but, we were on a downward spiral for a bit then, we'd only won the European Cup 3 years before, we just stayed up this season 85/86, but when down the next, I also remember a night game 85/86 against Notts County, with ne Dad, still with just 14,000 odd, but diehards, and what a great atmosphere it was, so I assume we won that one or came back and got a draw, I really thought we were more likely to go down that season than the one after. I moved back to Lichfield Dec 10th 87 on me Todd as a 16 yr old, in time for Small Heath away on the 12th,we won !, & so I could watch Villa home & away which I did pretty much for 6 seasons before moving again bk south. Step-back was a Forest fan from Long Eaton & had family friends from Bramcote Hills & Bingham so had a small soft spot for them, didn't mind County for their history in the game etcetera. P s, excellent Cloughie impression 🙂

Im a Celtic fan, our game against you is just before my time but I've heard many older Celtic fans talk about it. they say it was a miracle no one died in the crush that night in the City Ground. I've always had a soft spot for Forest because of Clough and your badge and your 80s Adidas kits!!! sickening how Anderlecht and that ref cheated you, but Karma for him that he died in a car crash in 1987, ah well, would be great to see Forest up there again but Modern Football won't allow for miracles like yours or ours in 67 again
