Martha Jane Weber was one of Sam Spence's pseudonyms. Great tune!

Martha Jane wasn't a Spence alias. According to Philip Speiller (former NFL Music director) Weber was an alias for a Philadelphia based session musician.

Do you think any player on the NY Jets today understands that they wear the same colors worn by Joe Namath? I doubt it.

The uniforms they wear now are awful IMO

Ironically it was also his peak of popularity. It was always more about the image, the idea of Joe Namath more than the actual man

Great post. I started watching football in the mid- to late 70's, so this is the Joe Namath I remember. Folks a little older remember his Super Bowl glory years.

Folks like me remember him doing commercials for Brute Faberge (fab-ber-szay), Noxzema Shaving Cream, Beautymist Pantyhose, The Brady Bunch, dating Raquel Welch, Charo, Ann-Margaret, etc.

To get to great places,,,sometimes you need a Jet,,,to get there. Joe was that Jet ( 1968 N.Y. JETS FLYING HIGH)

This video was from post 1970 and the merger. Joe was a bit washed up at this point. But still great to watch.
