SHOW SUGGESTION: Once the year is over, you guys should do "confidence rankings" every week of the playoffs. So, for the first round (Wild Card Weekend) you take all eight teams playing and you rank them in order of your confidence in them, regardless of conference. So the first category is Defense...take all 8 list them out with your confidence in that team's defense to show up. Then you do another list for Offense, Quarterbacks, Coaches. Mike and Mike on ESPN used to do this every year and it was a unique way to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the teams.

(Seahawks/Arizona/Rams, Falcons/Bucs, Commanders, Chargers, Broncos, Dolphins, Colts) Out of all of these teams only the Seahawks or Rams have a halfway decent chance of winning 1 playoff game BUT it relies on being at home. Matt Stafford is still a threat and the 12th man can still make a contribution. The Lions are consistently good, and until they lose another game I don't see how anyone can question their pedigree. The Chiefs, while looking silly at times, know how to turn their game up in the Postseason and can't be dismissed. The Eagles are really good (Erg!).

We were in control, then we started dropping like flies on defense and the Bears started coming back. Regarding the Lions vs Bears argument: Yes, the Lions beat the Bears without going into overtime. However, if you simulate the last minute of that game 1000 times, probably about 800 of those result in the Bears going into overtime. That terrible clock management happens 10/1000 times maybe (including somehow allowing the Lions to have a few seconds left to get points after a Bears field goal). Missing the field goal would maybe be 150/1000 times. I'd argue that a turnover would account for 40/1000 times with how Caleb Williams has been playing recently. I disagree that the Lions would never go into overtime against the Bears.

Minnesota is obviously a good team but I think their best ball is behind them. You don't get to 10-2 without being a good team, but I do think they're the 3rd best team in the division despite the standings. They peaked during the first 5 win streak and have been playing just okay to good since the Lions game. They've been squeaking by sub-par opponents, especially that putrid game against the Mac Jones led Jaguars where they won 12-7 with nothing but field goals. The first decent team they face in a while in Arizona (who the Packers absolutely waxed) they win by 1 in a game they realistically should have lost if the Cardinals coach wasn't a coward. Their best win in like 2 months is the Packers which featured Jordan Love in his first game back from an MCL sprain and 2 missed FGs from a kicker that's no longer on the team. I think there's reasons to keep them out of the top 5 but Jack saying he won't because they "skated by the bears" is funny because both the Packers and Lions skated by the Bears even worse than the Vikings. Also anyone that thinks the Vikings this year are just the 2022 Vikings is kidding themselves. That team STUNK, they were 28th in DVOA and had a negative point differential. This years Vikings are 6th in DVOA with a signficantly better point differential. They're not even close to the same team aside from being the same franchise.

Detroit has the better conference record to Philadelphia. Losing to Buffalo allows the Lions to take the 1 seed if they win all other games. Which is why this GB game is so important to Detroit. Lions are a great team.. but honestly they have had a lot of games where their opponents lost to themselves. Look at the packers game. You look at the box office score and you think it was completely dominated by the lions. But JLove had a terrible INT that he shouldn’t have thrown, you take that away and 1-2 bad penalties from the packers and it’s a completely different game.
