1999 is one of my favorite NFL seasons. Throughout the entire decade of the '90's, it was Buffalo and Dallas and San Francisco and Denver and Green Bay. And then, to end the decade with a bang, look at what we got. The Greatest Show On Turf and The Music City Miracle. I mean, who in the hell predicted that the final Super Bowl of the decade was going to be the Rams vs. the Titans? The Rams, 4-12 the previous season and lost their starting quarterback in the preseason, vs. the Titans, who were 8-8 in all of their previous three seasons. Wow. Not to mention the teams they defeated in their respective Championship games. The Jaguars had the best record in the league that year. And the Buccaneers? Seriously? And they damn near won the game! It was just an exciting season all around.

Super historic day in the NFL that day as we had the Tennessee Titans first game under the new name, a new city in Nashville, and a new stadium is now known Nissan Stadium 20+ years later. Cleveland Browns return to Cleveland after a 3-year absence at the new stadium now known as FirstEnergy Stadium 20+ years later. The first official game for the St. Louis Rams "Greatest Show on Turf" era and the first game for the 2000 Ravens defense led by Ray Lewis. Excellent showdown in Dallas as this season spelled the end of the decade's top dynasty in a shootout in Washington. Last home opener at Seattle's Kingdome for the Seahawks as they would move outdoors the following season. Last but not least the Vinny Testaverde injury ended the Jets season but it was an important injury for this reason because the greatest dynasty in NFL history the New England Patriots would probably never be born because Bill Belichick never goes to New England if the Jets went back to the playoffs.

This was also the year when the interconference schedules began to get very shaky. The NFC is just as perfect but the AFC schedules are uneven. Because the AFC has 16 franchises and the NFC has 15, the AFC had to play 1 fewer interconference game and 1 additional game from their own conference. Some AFC franchises had to play 2 teams each from 2 other divisions in their conference BUT only get to play 2 interconference games and not 4.

@jasonwalker90915 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the end of the century of Kickoff 99 of NFL Primetime 😊😊 Class is in session !!! . The Tennessee Tratiors have new name and colors and logo ( They will always be the Houston/Tennessee Oilers) escape The Bengals in their new home in Nashville in Aldelphia, Kurt Warner and " Greatest Show of Turf" is introduced with New Ram Marshall Faulk and gun down the Ravens. Marty Schomitter is no more in KC as they begin a new era as they go up against the Bears in Chicago, and Gunther Cunningham will have better days, A blood boiling rivalry of the Cowboys and Redskins would turn into a Clint Eastwood shootout game in D.C. which bullets be flying and be settled in OT and Rocket Ismail become the hero but it would be the end of the " Triplets" era in Dallas in 99. The Vikings trying to recover from the heartbreaking NFC Champ. Game goes up against the rematch with the Falcons and gets revenge in Hotalanta . The Patriots and Jets bang heads in the Meadowlands and ends in " Jet Lag " for Parcells and leaves Keyshawn Johnson crying like a bitch lol at the post game conference with Vinny Testaverde down and out, Peyton and the 1999 Colts would silence the critics by pouncing on the Bills. The Team of the 70's and The Team of the 60's would clash in Titletown of the Raiders and Packers ( Gruden returned to Oakland in 2018), and that game would turn into a gunfight with Farve punching the Silver and Black in the mouth at the end. 😁. The Lions begin the post Barry Sanders era as they go to the Kingdome in the final year for the Seahawks shut up Seattle in a Late game, The G-Men and the Buccaneers at each other in the South and one would be left standing as Trent Dilfer couldn't come up with a miracle, as Steve Young gets a taste of the Jungle in Jacksonville in a raining game against the Jags and things go to hell on opening day in a massacre
