@alohatigers1199 yes he's wrong. It's not easy to find A Henry or a Saquon or an Ekeler. They aren't getting paid either even though they do a lot for their teams. Everyone freaked out about Russel Wilson having his own office and acting like he was above the team last year but was he wrong? The pay structure basically says that qb is the most important position by a mile which sure it is the most important but if you have Pat Mahomes and 10 scrubs on the field that team still sucks. It's messed up that teams use up Backs in their tiny career window and never pay them what their worth when they're worth it. So yeah he is wrong and the pay structure in the NFL is wrong for everyone but QBs and ownership

3 things that urinatingtree did a good job of explaining. 1 a running backs production is highly dependent on the offensive lineman in front of his . 2 running backs hit a wall faster than any other position (emphasized by the fact that there has only been one back who has lead the league in rushing after he turned 31 while most receivers can last at least a few years into their 30s). And last but not least it’s is way more efficient and rewarding to pass then it is to run

It's not that crazy when the numbers pretty clearly show the gap between a league-leading RB and a late round rookie or UDFA are pretty small. Is it worth paying a guy who gets you 10TDs and 1000 rushing yards a ton of money when you can get a rookie who will get you 6TDs and 800 yards? It's a supply and demand problem. The long term solution is for players to opt out of playing RB and becomes WRs, tight ends, corners, etc. Not every position in football is highly paid. RBs are mad because they used to be one of them and they won't be going forward. This is what it's always felt like to be a kicker. You're probably your teams leading scorer. But you make maybe 1-4 million a year. Why? Because it's easy to replace kickers.

The Titans are a perfect example of that. Henry is a beast. But he isnt enough to get past the big boys come playoff time. Thats why they spent money on Hopkins. @MonkeyMonkey03 But at the end of the day, those yards aren't translating into wins like it used to back in the day. So yes, the running back position by itself is dying. Why isn't anyone talking about the real Moby Dick in the room? THE SALARY CAP???? The salary cap was theoretically put in place way back when to make sure that large market teams didn't stack the deck with talent over small market teams. Back when rabbit ears were on televisions and local teams were all you could watch. Well guess what? The least expensive team in the league is the Detroit LIONS @ $2.8 BILLION. But the salary cap is still structured like we are not living in today's NFL where it has gone both global in terms of actually playing in foreign countries. And actually viewed by millions around the planet on various mediums. So why not have a salary cap that reflects that? And then teams won't have to tailor their spending power towards who might be more likely to get hurt or least used or expendable.

I think the thought behind all of this is unfortunately a fact. The run game helps complement the pass by making the D-line stand back expecting to get hit in the face and not charging full force and gain nothing. The pass game is ultimately more rewarding, and if you gameplan using a pass oriented offense, you can have a higher ceiling - more possible scoring chances by having many receivers spread across the field. All of this leads to the "Meta game" of the NFL. It's been tested and proven that a team can win more often if it just uses a mid RB and supplies other positions with greater depth and a higher ceiling. A high tier RB is only really going to be utilized to their full potential in a true run-oriented offensive scheme, which is just not good enough anymore, and frankly hasn't been the case for a very long time. So, if you aren't going to game plan to use your highly paid position in a RB, why go out of your way to go get one?

Everyone keeps saying we can just draft another rb. By that logic u can just draft another qb, wr, or any other position. We still have yet to see another guy in this league similar to Christian and Derek or even Chubb and saqoun. They all provide different skill sets. They are involved physically in more plays then the WRs but the never get paid like it. Most offenses are ran with 3 wr sets. Does this mean they are replaceable too? Like he said in the video the NFL needs to move towards incentive based contracts instead of certain positions gaining praise more than others. Some might even suggest that everyone splits the cap space in an equal manor where starters earn the most but all the same amount, 2nd teamers earn slightly less than starters but all the same amount and so on.

The position has value, but the difference between top level rb and bench backs is roughly 1 yard per carry. The difference between wr1's and bench wr per target is about 6 yards. 3rd string WRs get more yards per target than RB 1s get per carry. Why pay for a top level RB when you can use the cap on a position where the skill level has more impact on the game.

@@blueberrywilbur315 OH..lol..it'll never happen. I know. If we ain't snagging a bonified "#1WR?" Lol, we ain't getting K Hunt. I can't keep up with all injuries history. I just know he's still under 30, he was FANTASTIC with Mahomes. Pacheco will keep the intensity up! Ball out, Rsh for 950yds/8tds

RBs should come out of college regardless of draft position, on 2 year deals fully guaranteed Every 2 years RBs will be up for free agency... The teams either resign fully guaranteed or let the newly drafted guy go after the second year for him to sign fully guaranteed for 2 years elsewhere

Pacheco is a prime example of why you don't pay running backs. I absolutely love Pacheco, dude is a stud but you know the Chiefs won't give him a 2nd contract unless he fits under their cap. You get 4-6 good yrs out of the average RB, why give a 3-5 yr contract to a back at 26-28 yrs old when you can draft one 5-7 yrs younger 😂 Analytics have ruined the running back position.

People saying it’s easy to find rbs I mean that’s kinda false because there’s not that many rbs who consistently hit over 15 hundred yards or even 1000 each year let alone change the dynamic of a team but pay a qb millions and millions who can’t even throw for 4000 yards 😂
