I'd really got into the NFL by then, so I had a better understanding of the game from when I first watched my Bears the year prior (I'm in the UK, so there wasn't much access to it, from what I remember). Yeah, I was being literal with the date as opposed to the season. I know that it was the '85 season that the Bears won, but with the Super Bowl being in January, it was quite literally in 1986 when I first watched NFL. Much like your first Super Bowl (XXI) was in January 1987 (although it was the '86 season).

LOL. Well....someone doesn't have a clue that the NFL adds crowd roar to their broadcasts after most sort of big plays. Sometimes you catch it when the roar is going and the fans in the stands are just standing there silently. Only at the end of a close game do you hear the real crowd, or an interception for a return at a home game, or when a QB is trying to call a play on the line.

@@kyledabearsfanour “backups” have been starters half the time, especially with the secondary that’s very injury prone. The starting group is a top secondary in the nfl, but they keep getting hurt. That’s why our defense looked so good in the preseason. Our backups have so much experience that there’s not too much drop off between our top guys and backups.
