It really was a great playoff that year. I was in college. Went to a girl's apartment for a get together to watch the Rams Panthers game. Some girl ruined my new leather jacket opening up a 2 liter of coke that was dropped. Anyways had a great night and it was a great game. The Superbowl was awesome, my Patriots won. I missed the halftime fiasco because I was out of it, not paying attention. I was rooting for GB in this game. I couldn't believe they blew this game. Mike Sherman was terrible.

Eagles nation sure is blessed; you got to watch relevant football EVERY sunday since 98; outside of 2013, 2015, 2020, y'all only had 3 seasons of suck!! From MCNabb, to Vick, to Wentz, to Jalen Hurts, plus always having a D esp a QB sacking D.

I'm a New Yorker & Giants fan and I learned the whole Eagles roster just from those 2 big games a year vs Eagles. Division and postseason always on the line. I kinda liked watching Eagles play anyone else but NY, always rooting for them in playoffs. Because Rush Limbaugh that f__ calling McNabb an Affirmative Action QB who is only starter because he's black. White male hate and fear of black QBs is so transparently inferiority complex; Im Greek, we're proud of Giannis, but we don't try to explain away non Greek athletes and coaches success. Because that's pathetic. The "Black QBs/HCs/GMs suck and only getting jobs because Woke politics" can't even see what anyone working with teens can see; or really any adult with a brain: Inferiority and insecurity.

As a packer fan this game absolutely broke my heart. Between this game and the nfc championship against Seattle, they were so close!! Literally both games took a miracle for the home team to win, and somehow both times the impossible happened to my packers.
@drewdrewski4188
@drewdrewski4188 2 жыл бұрын
Me too. That year's team had a real "team of destiny" feel for a while. There was the game in Oakland after Favre's dad died, then the miracle Nate Poole play just for the Packers to get into the playoffs, then the infamous Hasselbeck moment in the wildcard round. The day before this game, the Rams (who had GB's number those years) got upset by the Panthers, so it all seemed to be lining up for us right up until 4th & 26.

Favre was a double edged sword no doubt. 2 amazing TDs 1 game ending INT. That Packers O line blocked so well and Green was such a powerful runner. I remember watching this game and thinking Favre just quit. Watching it back years later I have found the way to describe the feeling. It was like Hands of Stone saying "No mas".

Wish they had Meryl and Mike Quick’s commentary. Aikman and Buck’s comments about 4 & 26 is telling. An iconic play and Buck explains like a robot “he might be short.” That would be like during the immaculate reception if the annoucers were just like sitting there saying “probably incomplete” with no emotion lmao

The drive before mcnabs drive the packers punted it for on 4th and one from the eagles 40 yd line. The punt went into the end zone so they basically gained 20 yd of field position. We're seeing most teams go for that today

54:23 is a young backup QB, who goes by Doug Pederson, telling his GB coach to run a little play he just created called the Green Bay Special on 4th and inches, right before the half. 15 years later, on fourth and inches right before halftime, Pederson would let Nick Foles run the same play and the rest is football lore.

Packers REALLY seemed like a team of destiny. Starting with the MNF game in Oakland after Favre's dad's death, to the miraculous Arizona TD that knocked the Vikings out, to the "Hasselbeck game" the week before this, to the Rams being knocked out the day before, it seemed like Green Bay was destined to get to the Super Bowl. Of course Favre ruined the storybook ending as only he could.
