I was born in Minneapolis in 1959. My first 18 years were spent growing up with the Vikings (joined the service and never got back.). They are a part of my history. In all that time, no matter how great a team they had, they never won it all. The heartbreak and disappointment they have generated for me is shared by millions of other fans. And in each new wave of excitement we bring up the past and those new to the game say, "Yeah, but this team is not those teams." And yet, the pattern persists. It has not mattered which hall of famers were present. It has not mattered how many records those team held at the time. All that matters is the score at the end of each game, and when it truly mattered, the team *_always_* had the lesser number. The cycle of hope and then despair is real. There is only so much a fan can withstand before true apathy takes hold. For *decades* we faithful steel ourselves up and try our best to squash down the history and spin up our hope, so desperately believing that "This time it will be Our Time!" And then our hopes are crushed. I absolutely want this Vikings team to be the one to break from the cycle. I want to see KOC hoist that Lombardi Trophy on a world-wide TV broadcast. I want to have those feelings of my team being the world champions for the first time in my life. I would like to have that special moment while I still can. Come on Vikings - the clock is ticking for all of us. Make this year *_THAT_* year!

It's interesting that they overlook the obvious trajectory with Darnold and much of the Defence both new to the team this season and becoming more comfortable with the playbook and each other, and playing better from game to game. The major errors yesterday were from a guy who only had 9 snaps in the first Bears game 3 weeks ago and is still learning the calls. Flores has kept Turner fresh all season with only 10-15 snaps a game - only a third as many as his rookie peers like Jared Verse - but now as crunch time appears and 14 games into his apprenticeship the boss is letting him play more - doubling his snap count these past two weeks as the games really start to count. Watch this space. He could explode these last few weeks.

The Bears weren't that kind of team to make a judgement about the Vikes? They pushed the Packers and Vikes at their home stadium, and the Lions to the brink in their own stadium in Detroit. The Bears were never in this road game at a division rival, never, and the score flattered them, as did the OT game in Chicago.
@alwaysgreatusa2233 күн бұрын
The Bears are actually not as bad as you make them sound. The Vikings D had something to do with making their offense look terrible. You have to factor in the way the Vikings were able to stop the Bears' running game and putting all the pressure on a rookie QB who is struggling in his first year. The Bears D is actually good. The real problem with this team is that they are poorly coached. I mean it's not like the Bears are getting blown-out every week. If you want to talk about a really bad team, talk about the Giants or the Raiders. I mean think about it: the Bears have to play the Lions, the Vikings, and the Packers (three of the four top teams in the NFC) each twice a year. Really, I can't believe you guys get paid for your not understanding football.
@patrickharty92143 күн бұрын
Talking about the Eagles like they're invincible (no pun intended 😆) when last week they almost lost to one of the worst teams in the NFL (Panthers). The bias is absolutely out of control. The Vikings should have won against the Lions. Harrison Phillips had a strip ball on the Lions end of the field, and the officials let the Lions keep the ball. That was the difference in winning and losing.

Figures that NOW this whole "who have they actually even played" argument sticks its ugly head out again. Beat SF and NYJ when they were healthier and not tire fires, beat GB in GB, stomped Houston, lit up ATL, and have a top 10 defense in several categories. They lost to Detroit by 2 (without Hockenson or Cashman) and then lost to LA 3 days later (again without Hock or Cashman) by going across country and losing an all pro LT mid game. Stop with the "they haven't actually done anything to deserve wins" - you can play that stupid game for every team but conveniently don't.

I think this team is built around receivers and allow good qbs and rb's to excel, which is opposite of high money qbs the league seems to like. We will see next year too how everything plays out.

What do the vikings 🤔 have to do to get respect? That dude is a 🤡. Sure they beat the packers and texans but blah blah blah. He acts like the other top teams hasnt lost or had close games. Not to mention we were resting some of our starters.

Darnold played like Jordan Love most of this game and the Vikes still won, just like the Packers have been doing!

The Vikings haven't been tested? Wow, who is this idiot saying that? Vikings had the 3rd hardest schedule (coming into the season).

WHY WOULD FLORES LEAVE GOING IS THIS GOOD WIN THE SB
@Gary-l6o3 күн бұрын
I don`t make much of the Vikings, 10 of they`re wins were against losing teams, and 9 of those teams, will not make the play-offs.

Seahawks aren’t healthy so they should go down vs the Vikes. GB should be tough as usual. The Lions are nicked up so the Vikes should be slightly favored (perhaps). Saying the Vikings haven’t been tested is BS.

Everyone’s worried about Sam Darnolds past. But ain’t sports all about updating your resume? The present moment is all that matters.

I was a bears fan for 23 years, best decision I ever made was ditching the worst franchise in sports. They should replace them with an expansion franchise.

What do you mean jettison themselves??.. they (Vikings) have had a better or equal record to the eagles all year long. How come it’s taken you idiots four months to come to this conclusion.. zero has changed and you act surprised

The funny thing is nobody mentions how they lost that rams game, and it wasn't just the face mask. Refs had 2 bogus, timely, flags that resulted in 10 points earlier in that game. Drive saving flags that were pretty suspicious.

Dont forget the vikings beat the 49ers before most of the injuries, the lions barely beat the vikings before they got plagued with injuries too
@bobcastelline89602 күн бұрын
Not tested? Terrible take. Atlanta was a playoff team UNTIL they played the Vikings. San Fran lost to the Vikings in week TWO, long before they became the injury-decimated 49ers. Yes, the Vikings lost to Detroit … but the Vikings led with 13 seconds to go. Then they went to the west coast four days later and lost a tough game to the Rams. This team is battle tested, despite the media’s utter refusal to see them as anything but third in their own division.

When vikings beat 49ers in the early part of the season the 49ers were better than what you see now to the point vikings victory was considered a upset
@Wolves23242 күн бұрын
good god. vikes beat the niners when they were healthy minus ayiuk, packers, falcons. The excuses of schedule and “who have they played”. aren’t these all NFL teams? and the over under for the vikes was litterally 4.5 wins to begin the year bc of “how tough the schedule was”

Ok Wiseguy. Who did the Lions play this year? They also have two losses to playoff teams, The Buccaneers and the Bills. And even more embarrassing, the Rams have lost to the Lions, Cardinals, THE BEARS, Packers, THE DOLPHINS, and the Eagles. So tell me again why the Vikings aren't taken seriously?

Why does it take the Nfl site at least 3 days BEFORE they post stuff? How many ppl are still talking abt something 3 or more days later? Dont they get paid to watch stuff going on and shouldnt they be able to make quicker decisions?

The Vikings are undefeated when Blake Cashman plays....Detroit beat us without our leader on defense...and without TJ who will eat up the middle of the field against Detroit. I guess we will soon find out how good your packers are. We cooked them in Green Bay...wasn't nearly as close as the score suggests.

One of the best NFL teams in history without a SB ( win%, division titles, etc.). Their best path is home field advantage (as for most teams), can they win 6 (or 7) more games? This is one of those years where it's straight heartbreak in January, soaked in the hope that we may actually get to see a Vikings team finally bring home a Lombardi here to the Cities. Hopefully, the vikes can finally shake the 4 SB losses, Pearson push-off, and all the NFC championship losses (87', 98', 41donut, 09', 38-7)! I thought KO and Kwesy were making things up when they said they were going to attempt a 'competitive rebuild'.😅 Now after thinking 25'-28' was our window, it's time to just enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts! 😝🤪😈
