The week 1 loss was a complete fluke--the Bills were simply too emotionally high in front of their home crowd (a full stadium essentially for the first time in nearly 2 years)-and a miscommunication on special teams causing a blocked punt. Well we learned two things for sure about the WFT. First, chase young is completely overrated. Second, the WFT defense is complete trash. Allen had so much time back there, he was able to read a newspaper, grabbed an americano and a bagel.

I remember being excited for this year because I thought my team was finally coming together after all these years. I was on board the Heinicke Train since the diving touchdown in Tampa last year. I couldn't wait to see the havoc Chase Young and the rest of our front 4 was going to make. I knew our secondary wasn't quite as good as everyone was hyping it to be at the end of last year, the numbers were padded by the numerous soft offenses we played throughout the year. But, despite that, I knew things would only get better, even after we drafted a linebacker as our #1 pick (really wished we had gone with a receiver or o-lineman at the time). Fast forward to this year, and I don't think I could be more disappointed. For one, our defense is a *joke*, especially our secondary. I don't know what the hell happened this off season, but we have one of the worst secondaries in the league, hands down. And our defensive line? Where are they??? For being such an elite group last year, I just can't wrap my head around how little pressure we've gotten out of them so far this season. With Ionidis' return, our d-line should be stronger than ever, but it just isn't. I'm consistently impressed with how mediocre our linebackers are this year, especially considered our #1 pick this off season is one of them. Even our safeties, who I rather like, seem to be playing worse than last year. The only glimmer of hope I see is our offense, especially Heinicke. Sure, he didn't play so well this game, but I personally believe that to be a by-product of an extremely talented Bill's secondary and also because of how much pressure was on him to keep pace with the Bill's offense. I am so impressed by how comfortable Heinicke is in the pocket, his ability to progress through all his reads and also how dangerous he is when the pocket is collapsing. He simply tried to do too much this game. Additionally, I love McLaurin and Thomas. McLaurin may not be exceptionally big or strong, or the faster receiver out there, but I don't joke when I say he might be the best route-runner in the league with some of the best hands around. Terry is so amazingly consistent, and Heinicke has so much trust in him to be where he throws the ball, and I just love it. Same with Logan Thomas. They. Are. Consistent. Guys you can count on to make the contested catches, and be where they need to be. And so, I end this ramble wondering: What happened? I know Washington has one of the hardest schedules maybe ever, but our defense has no excuse to be playing this poorly. If they don't step it up and gel soon, Washington has absolutely no shot at making the playoffs this year. They're facing the bet offenses in the league this year, but if they can step it up and stop the football, Washington can really make some noise in the NFC.

They did. Which is legal. It’s different from a punt, where the ball is dead when a defender gains control and the receiving team didn’t touch it. That’s why onside kicks are a thing.

@@xThExGrEaTeSTx Only on punts. It's a Live Ball on kickoffs. As long as the ball travels 10 yards, either team can grab it and run. That's how it's always been, it's just incredibly rare to see a kick travel any distance at all and have the kicking team pick it up.
