It took him a year & 1/2 to be totally healthy again & everyone was calling him a china doll. But those hits he took that hurt him would have hurt anyone. He has now played in like 112 straight games & played thru broken & dislocated finger on his throwing hand a few times. Sprained ankles & knees & so many other injuries. They guy is as tuff as they come. He is finally earning the respect he deserves which I had when he was a rookie in 2009. Whoever made the decision to keep the camera on him throughout that entire series of events is an absolute legend. You just know that there had to be tremendous pressure on him to switch back to the game; but he instinctively knew that keeping the camera on Stanford was the right thing to do within that moment. SOMEHOW, he knew that magic was going to happen. Just awesome.

He's such the trooper, Stafford took that monster hit, and still he keeps on going and going and going.......

I feel like this is probably why the whole city of Detroit was rooting for him in the super bowl.

Stafford's one of those guys who deserved a ring was a stud of a player and ended up getting one reminds me of those guys who get stuck on shitty teams and never get the chance to win but Stafford fond a way

One of the nastiest hits ever laid on a QB. The fact he was even conscious is a miracle.

Being a Chicago native and a Bears fan, I watch this and all I can think of is..... Jay Cutler's punk ass slowly peddling a stationary bike on the sideline of the 2010/2011 NFC Championship Game. smh...

I know I'm way late, but god damn Cutler was a waste of an NFL player. You guys deserved so much better.

Cutler was the biggest football robbery since Charlie Weis at Notre Dame. He got the money and tuned out

My first year as a Lions fan at the age of 9 still love my city and this team....we started off 0-8 (technically 0-24 following from last season lol) but we finished 2-6 in the second half of this season 💯💯

I have watched this no less than one time every 4-6 months for a few years now & I have always found it crazy moving(just as I do with all similar instances i.e. Phillip Rivers, Ronnie Lott, even MJ’s ‘Flu Game’). This time viewing it evoked a much more intense feeling than ever before. One might think the fact that I am a Rams fan is quite a obvious cause for this-just as I thought of first after having to wonder ‘why?’-but that’s when I realized that it was actually a genuine empathy for him for never having succeeded in achieving what he yearned to bring to that city & it’s people more than anything else for sooosoSO long*. [*..well, I suppose finding some sort of satisfaction in at LEAST getting to feel most proud of him if/when he’s being sized for a ring that features a gaudy Rams logo(& enough carats that it should only be worn standing near some candy-coated dream vehicle outfitted with spinners in recreations of early 00’s-inspired music videos) isn’t nothing.]

This video is great on so many levels - foremost, Stafford gutting it out with a separated shoulder. “Get off me”. Baller. Then, after the extra point is made, the epic music starts and you remember both teams were 1-8 going into the game.
