The Julio Jones catch against the patriots is the most forgotten moment. Made an insane catch. All the Falcons had to do was run the ball and kick a field goal to go up 11. Instead they blew it, and gave Tom more than 2 minutes to make a comeback.

Today, a horse collar... -1975 NFC Divisional DAL-MIN: Dallas converting a 4th and 17 before Staubach's Hail Mary. -Super Bowl 42: not Tyree helmet catch-Plax TD.... but Steve Smith converting 3rd and 11 (out of bounds too) right before game winning score. -1981 AFC Divisional SD-MIA: Don Strock-Tony Nathan hook-and-lateral to end first half.

Being a long, long time Cardinal fan(40+ years) I experienced the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat in 2 minutes of game time. In all of my then 53 years of my life, there is no bigger moment where my heart was ripped from my chest when Holmes made that catch especially after my most favorite professional athlete in any sport of all time scored the go ahead TD in the Super Bowl. To this day, when NFL Network replays that game, once Larry crosses the goal line, I turn it off. I haven't watched that game winning Stealer drive since the actual game.

Come on, admit it. You thought that Seattle was gonna win after the Kearse catch. I was 99% positive that Beast Mode would score. The only question on my mind is that would Seattle leave enough time on the clock for Brady and co. to get the tying FG to send the game into overtime. Then Malcolm Morherfucking Butler got his INT. There’s a whole story about him and how Patriots practiced that play. The Seahawks executed that play horribly (obviously) but the other defender did a stellar job jamming Kearse at the line of scrimmage. Because he got jammed, he was unable to set the requisite pick on Butler, thus allowing Butler to make a play on the ball.

This makes me think of two plays in Super Bowl 34 that are overshadowed by the Mike Jones tackle of Kevin Dyson at the 1-yard line. I wouldn't consider the long Isaac Bruce touchdown to be forgotten (and it ended up being the game-winning score), but I think Steve McNair's miraculous escape and throw to Dyson on the play before "The Tackle" would fit in this video.

Mcnair's escape is a great one! Definitely should've at least gotten an honorable mention. That and Desean Jackson's juggling TD catch in the NFC Championship in 2008 before Kurt Warner won the game on the ensuing drive are two missing plays that I can think of. Another good one was Julio Jones' Super Bowl catch that should've put the Pats away in the infamous 28-3 comeback.

Everyone seems to have forgotten what happened after "The Catch" Montana to Clark against Dallas. There was still time on the clock and the first play from scrimmage after the ensuing kickoff, Danny White passes deep over the middle into traffic and connects with Drew Pearson who begins to break away. He was tackled by Eric Wright's fingertip horse-collar at the 49er's 45 yard line and at least prevented the Cowboys from gaining field goal range if not a long touchdown. As a combined Bears and Patriots fan, I was still closet Pats fan at this time (I will be dead honest, I am more of a Brady fan. To go from unwanted pick 199 to greatest of all time resonates, I don't see how people can hate the guy). I remember the Super Bowl party I was at and how so many people wanted the Pats to lose. I stepped outside after the Plaxico catch. (I will say I don't remember the Plaxico catch as much as Tyree, I just remember stepping outside when all these people were going nuts while I was in the agony of defeat). I couldn't understand how people did NOT want to see an undefeated season in their lifetime. Of all the misery from Bears screw ups and Pats title losses, this one is the one that still hurts. Like I get tight chested and pained every time I see the Tyree catch or anything. An undefeated season gone. We will likely never see it in our lifetime, just like a Super Bowl threepeat. I need to go watch something nice, I am feeling depressed now. My heart hurts.

cortezmauricio56 It us so dumb when people say Brady choked to Manning. The real forgotten plays were that the Patriots took the lead over the Giants before Eli responded. Both times, the Giants had to score a TD, a FG wasn't good enough and the Pats defense choked. In addition to that, in 2007 Brady hit Moss innthe hands TWICE on bombs that he dropped with 18 seconds left. If Moss hokds on to either of those, the Pats woukd have been in FG range to do it again. I guess you also forgot the Wes Welker drop in 2011. I guess that is Tom Brady choking too?

Okay, Larry Fitzgerald definitely did NOT carry the 08 Cardinals on his back. He had Kurt Warner at QB, Anquan Boldin and Steve Breaston opposite him at WR (who both had 1,000 yard seasons that year), Edgerrin James at RB, Darnell Dockett, Antrell Rolle, Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie, Adrian Wilson, Karlos Dansby and Calais Campbell all on defense. No disrespect to the goat, but he wasn't the only great Cardinal that year.

How about something from a defensive standpoint? Everyone remembers “The Catch” in the 1981 NFC Championship, but it was the next two plays that were equally as important. On the ensuing Dallas possession, Drew Pearson caught the ball in the middle of the field for a big gain. However, Kenny Wright saved the day by tackling him (it was a horse collar by today’s standards which would have gotten 15). This tackle was important because it kept the Cowboys out of FG range and on the next play, White was sacked and fumbled. The Niners recovered and the rest is history as the 80s Dynasty was born.

No McNair's pass before the one yard short from the SB? That might be the greatest play in a SB ever.

I remember the NFL Films recap of that moment, being so dramatic, you almost think then the Titans would be winning.

Second-last play of Super Bowl 34. A truly jaw-dropping effort by the late Steve McNair. Too bad for him that the next play missed by just one yard.

And to think...if the Falcons didn’t choke last Super Bowl Julian Edelman would’ve made this list.

Dominic Mallano but imagine any other kicker literally Vinateri is probably the greatest kicker of all time and most of those Field Goals were 40+ and anyoyher kicker would be nervous but Vinateri has been there and done that so he’s used to it

Here is one: Everson Walls great open field tackle on Thurman Thomas on the Bills final drive in SB 25. If he doesnt make that tackle, Thomas might have taken it to the house or taken the ball deeper into Giants territory. That was a Super Bowl saving tackle.
