So glad that Torry is on the list. He gets overlooked because Moss, T.O., Chad Johnson, Steve Smith and others got all the attention in the 2000s. Even on his team, Warner and Faulk got the lion’s share of attention. He’s one of the best route runners ever (learned from one of the best ever in Isaac Bruce), and had such soft hands. He rarely dropped a pass

Torry is not underrated. He's properly rated. There's absolutely 3 guys ahead of him in that era. Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, and Marvin Harrison who I think was the best of the 2000s over Moss and TO. Moss is a good argument, but Harrison was definitely better than TO.

Kind of a combo of reasons. - In 2000, they lost a 31-28 shootout in the playoffs where they turned the ball over 4 times, three of those leading to points for their opponent (2 TDs and 1 FG). - In 2001, they ran up against Belichick, who knew how to slow down top offenses (as D coordinator with the Giants in 1990 his game plan mostly shut down the Bills' K-Gun attack in SB XXV), plus the most clutch kicker in the NFL. There was this kid named Brady that was pretty good too. - In 2002 and 2003 Warner was injured, missing most games and playing poorly when he was in. They made the playoffs without him in 2003 but lost in OT in the first round. So they really only had 3 chances with that whole crew mostly healthy, and had three playoff appearances, two Super Bowl appearances, and one championship. Not shabby.
@Footballfansblue

Torry Holt is very underrated. People talk about Isaac Bruce and Marshall Faulk when they mentioned the greatest show on turf. But to me they don't mentioned Torry Holt nearly enough. I would make a case that he was the best player in the Greatest Show on Turf era and in the hall of fame too.
@jarvasedundy1
@jarvasedundy1 3 жыл бұрын
The Rams o-line in my opinion was the best during that era. Orlaano Pace goes under the radar alot he was a machine lol. And so does Tom Nutten, Andy McCollum, Adam Timmerman. Timmerman should have made more Pro Bowls during that era, although he was a Pro Bowl alternate few times and made an All-Pro team. They always gave Warner time in the pocket to go through all his reads to reading the defense why he was a 2x MVP. And they always created big holes for Faulk that made him a 3x OPOY and 1x MVP.

@@jarvasedundy1 He had multiple hand injuries that made it difficult for him to grip the ball that severely hampered his play. His tendency to hold on to the ball forever and getting hit caused him to fumble at a ridiculous pace and never really allowed his injuries to heal. Getting benched with the Giants, going to Arizona suffering non hand injuries in his first season then getting benched for Leinart in his second season is honestly what saved him career. yeah no rhyme or reason to it, their rationale would be that they value SB wins a lot so that’s why there’s so many 70s Steelers players in so Lynn Swann despite lack of stats in that era of less passing yards had some spectacular moments in the playoffs but then why is Andre Johnson from the same era with comparable stats with no SB appearances in over Tory Holt that got to 2 SBs and won one and sharing catches with Isaac Bruce and that were 1A and 1B and either one of them would’ve gotten more yards if they were the clear cut top receivers on their team like Andre Johnson

some of these guys they have talking obviously have no idea what they're talking about. That last guy especially....he mentioned being on a team with Isaac Bruce and marshall faulk and kurt warner...so its hard for you to say Torry is "The Guy". Just go look at the stats man. When Torry was playing with those guys, he was THE GUY. After 2000, Torry was the #1 weapon for the Rams. And Torry only played 3 seasons with a healthy, full season Kurt Warner.

They didn't re-do the list. They uploaded all but 3 about 2 months ago and this was one of the 3 they didn't upload when the list came out.

Not in the 2000's which is what the list was about. A lot of Bruce's best years came in the 90's

Anyone that thinks Steve Smith was better than Torry Holt isn't qualified to talk about this.

Torry Big Game Holt was tremendously awesome the former NC State University Wolfpack in the 1999 NFL draft pick 6th overall winning a super bowl ring in his rookie year but he should be a Hall Of Famer without a doubt like let's be real here
