Maria Taylor is an absolute star as a journalist. She’s able to relate to these athletes like a cousin and it’s just different. Feels like they’re just chopping it up at a family barbecue and then “oh and where does such confidence come from?”

Well being black helps alot
@Diamondbull
@Diamondbull Жыл бұрын
@@cashiemartin9195 That is absolutely true, it helps because there is an absolute genuine social connection she can bring to the table that maybe a white counterpart cannot. However there are many other black journalists who are similarly great at what they do, but can’t provide this same level of family within the interview structure. Ie a Michael Wilbon, very professional, intelligent, and mentally agile.. but not quite as infectiously personal. This is something that is very unique to her skill set and abilities. Like I’ve seen others try to bring this element to the table, like a Stephen A Smith, but I haven’t seen a similar interview style as Taylors’ since perhaps Stuart Scott passed away. He also did a great job of bringing that feeling of family to his interviews IMO.

@@Diamondbull you named older black people but younger black journalists just have a better chance connecting with younger athletes
@Diamondbull
@Diamondbull Жыл бұрын
@@cashiemartin9195 Those older “black people” I named weren’t connecting with the athletes of their generation in the same way so your logic is flawed. Stuart Scott did, but not the other guys. They weren’t bad interviewers, but they didn’t deliver the same level of family regardless of era. So while the overall idea that younger is more likely to connect with younger maybe true, that isn’t the comparison point being made.

Lamar is special. He won the Heisman for a reason - he has over 75% win percentage in the NFL. Won unanimous MVP in 2019…need I go on? He’s very private online. Doesn’t cuss, and I doubt he even drinks. He is HUMBLE and hardworking. This man is a role model and a leader. Baltimore is very lucky to have him. I hope he has a massive chip on his shoulder, because he gets NO credit for the path he walks.

@bigwhite21 this comment aged like milk lmaoo. All those qbs that you mentioned are below Lamar right now. Brock whooo?? The same Brock that threw 4 ints against the ravens? lol you’re a clown. I’m just glad he’s still proving you bums wrong every year. He’s not top 5 you say? You’re right, he’s number 1.

Very talented but remains a humble “Team” player & leader. Great personality. Love LJ8! That’s my QB! Great interview!

"That's my qb" reminded me of Terrell Owens tearfully talking about former Dallas Cowboy qb Tony Romo. Lol

I hope our QB1 wins a Super Bowl, with whoever gives him the best chance to do so.
