@@SolidMikePthat may be true in the sense of no one likes to be fired but this was going to end this way eventually. Rodgers is a shell of his former self, its obvious. Hes better than the previous QBs but not nearly good enough to overcome the OL issues. Theres definitely a part of Saleh thats got to be relieved, maybe thats the right word…..relieved that he can move on and get back to doing what he was successful at. No more Woody, no more A.Rodgers, no more trying to game plan around an O line thats still bad.

The problem was the offense. Saleh was a defensive coach and Rodgers had his own guy Hacket who was running it. Now Rodgers will have no one else to blame for his poor play. They put too much faith and power into a washed up QB.

Yeah, the guy has been in he NFL 20 seasons and Robert Saleh was his third head coach. The first one lasted 13 seasons in Green Bay before being fired, and has proven in Dallas he isn't that good a head coach. The second coach is still in Green Bay and doing well. Yeah, what a coach killer. I'm not taking Aaron Rodgers' side, because I think he's washed and as arrogant and weird as ever. But Saleh has been in New York since 2021, long before Rodgers finally took the field (for more than three plays) in 2024. The Jets have been spinning their wheels the whole time ando the buck stops with him. Just because you're a good defensive coordinator doesn't necessarily mean you're ready or able to lead an entire team.

@@jaybird3651 Aaron Rodgers played 4 snaps last year and the team did nothing. But the part of Saleh is how he handles the locker room and he has lost control of the locker room since year 1. The players dont seem to like him and/or respond to him positively. Its not just Rodgers. We have heard form multiple guys now and how he has handle situations. The media was literally saying how the Jets were about to go way off the rails. I think Saleh is a good DC but as a HC you are responsible for everything not just defense. The most important job is being the puppet master, culture setter, etc and Saleh never could do that. BUTTT I do think they should have kept Saleh for now and after week 10 if it looks bad then make the HC change.

@TheBigB22 but who do u blame when they lose this week or next, all I see is another excuse for Rodgers to dodge accountability for his own play, the o-line didn't block, wr ran wrong route, defense was holding, coach called wrong play that he audibled out of but since the beginning of time with Rodgers it's always someone else's fault, had Mike McCarthy pushed out when Rodgers just doesn't get it done when it counts

It makes perfect sense to do it now. This is Aaron Rodgers last season with these players with expiring contracts, a team that on paper should be alot better.. this is all on the hc. Woody Johnson did alot of stupid things but this isn't one of them. While alot of team owners fire coaches in their first season, woody is too patient at times, but today he did the right thing.

And the Vikings win gets even sweeter. And no, not because I wished Saleh would be fired. But because in one inexplicable week, beyond win number: 5, the Vikes now have the DC replacement for when Flores accepts his HQ position in the offseason. Flores is the man but the impending nightmare facing the Vikes this offseason just turned the corner that they needed. The irony seems rosy. 🤞🏼💜

How will it make it worse is a question Mike is avoiding. They’ve hit rock bottom, and Saleh has too good of a roster to be looking like this. Honestly, he’s not adding much as a head coach and firing him suggests that Woody wanted him gone last offseason and against his better judgement kept him on. This firing is long overdue.

Have you seen Carolina or the titans? The jets haven't hit rock bottom and it's only because of the defense. The qb with to much power and the OC that Salah didn't want the the qb brought on, are very obviously the problem.
