Here again after 2 years now that Hamilton is an All Pro who made the NFL top 100 for the 1st time. Simms was spot on with the versatility analysis. As a Raven's fan who had been longing for anybody close to Ed Reed playmaking ability, I couldn't be happier. Even though Hamilton is more SS/Star player than FS (like Reed), you just know every game you watch, 14 has a chance to make a game wrecking play.

He can cover some TEs not all. TEs in the NFL are at a different level. Waller, Kelce and a few others have superb route running skills, can beat man coverage routinely and get deep down the seams which Hamilton's lack of speed will struggle to stay with.

This is badly misleading. Reed had elite short area quickness, that allowed him to change direction on a dime and run with receivers or make sharp cuts to get to plays. Hamilton does not have that quickness so the comparison to Reed is a poor one.

Ed Reed’s 40 time IS his 40time. You’re negating anticipation, a thing Hamilton clearly has. Would you even be comparing him to Reed had he not been drafted by The Ravens? 🤔 Reed is STUPID rare! The man even baited Peyton Manning. But good for Hamilton to go to The Ravens where he doesn’t have to immediately lead a DB room. He’s a Swiss Army knife in the Secondary. Can cover TE’s and stick his nose in there on runs! Getting a willing tackler as a rookie is important.

His coverage isn’t the problem, he’s aggressive and gets beat sometimes because of that, but most great safeties get burnt like that once in awhile. When he reacts correctly he’s pretty great. Like, he would be a monster on the Ravens or Broncos.
