Then Zac had to "push" Ja'Marr back onto the field for the next snap. KC has baited him before (just like CBT said he baited Metcalf bc it's easy to get in his head) bc he is very easy to bait. Couple years ago Ja'Marr got into with KC defenders and got another costly penalty and Zac was saying "what are you doing" This is not new and that means the refs are going to be more likely to call against him... esp now that he is relentlessly going after the refs and Burrow had to intervene twice to get Ja'Marr to back off the ref

Specifically though, the issue with the guaranteed money is mainly because players do not want to lose out on contract value if they get injured. And then he thought he McDuffie made a hip drop tackle, which has been banned specifically because of the injuries it's been causing. It wasn't a hip drop, but Chase just took out an insurance policy because of the risk of suffering a career-altering injury before he has an extension. I'm not defending his behavior or the penalty, but it's not as simple as "he's immature, he's selfish", etc.

Go to the NFL rules website, there you will find a description and video of what a hip drop tackle looks like. The tackle on Chase met two of the three criteria they list, but it did not qualify as a Hip Drop Tackle. Breaking it down what I saw was McDuffie wrapped up Chase with both arms (check, one factor of a hip drop tackle), then McDuffie twisted his body around the back of Chase while bringing him to the ground (check, another factor of a hip drop tackle), then McDuffie brought his outside foot up and stood over chase as he was going down, avoiding putting his body weight on the back of Chase's legs (did not meet the third criteria for a hip drop tackle). Good no call by the Ref.

It’s not that Brown doesn’t WANT to pay Chase, it’s that he CANT pay Chase. Every other owner in the NFL has an income source outside the NFL. Brown’s income IS the Bengals. To put hundreds of millions of dollars into escrow you have to have the liquidity. Selling the naming rights of the stadium gave him the 200-250 million needed for Burrow. I’m not convinced Brown has another 140-150 million available for Chase.
